MSNBCs political panel on Election Night was shocked by the Republican Partys victory in the Illinois Governor race on Tuesday, with Andrea Mitchell declaring it a real blow to the president.
Chris Matthews described GOP candidate Bruce Rauners victory as unbelievable and amazing. And host Andrea Mitchell added it's also a real blow to president obama. Theres no way you cant call it a blow to the president. Because he campaigned for him [Democrat Gov. Pat Quinn]. That was one race that the president really did want to win. Al Sharpton added that Republicans did a better job turning out their base than Democrats.

This 2 minute clip is more than I've watched any of these people in the past year but it's worth it just to hear their second-guessing and excuses while contemplating the subject line: "A real blow to President Obama"....
Pass the Schadenfreude!
Musta been low black turnout.
When Quinn tried to make the huge “temporary” increase in the state income tax permanent..he was toast..
Barry can afford plenty of blow now.
On the dark side, Dickie “Scumbag” Durbin won.
Last night Megyn tried this crap on Ted Cruz. He said they were going to have hearings and stop O’s lawlessness. Megyn said ‘won’t the people resent all the hearings, don’t they just want you to get it done? ‘
Ted said ‘I’ve been all over this country in last few weeks and I never heard that, not even once.’
Love that guy.
I saw the description on Breibart of the meltdown at MSNBC—it made me laugh out loud.
and then there’s Maryland... and Massachusetts.
And we do it without vote fraud!
Barky Obama also campaigned for the Maryland Governor who lost.
The people weren’t fooled. There is no such thing as a “temporary tax”.
Lets hope this guv doesn’t join the others in prison after one term.
Yeah, I hate that Dirtbin won, but the IL GOP needs to fins someone other than Oberweis, who is becoming a Perennial Candidate no matter how many zeros he can write on a check.
I’m in IL-17, probably the worst example of gerrymandering in the nation, constructed at Durbin’s specific request (demand) linking a wide swath of rural IL with the most Democrat areas of Rockford, Peoria, and the Quad Cities so that Cheri Bustos could win it. Bobby Schilling is a good man and ran a good race, but he got trounced by the demographics. It’s time for the IL GOP to realize we need to fight fire with fire and nurture some young black, Hispanic, or female conservatives to take Bustos out in two years.
Reggie Love, please pick up on the red courtesy phone.............................
The people who paid taxes went to the polls to vote. Those that received the taxes in the form of handouts/welfare stayed at home thinking Repubs will never win in Illinois. Surprise Surprise Surprise
...with mittens in case any of the rest of us ever need to use it.
Bruce Rauner earned more than $50 million last year, and his campaign slogan is “I can’t be bought”. The kind of bribes and kickbacks that Blago would sell his soul for are pocket change to Rauner. And he’s running on a platform that includes term limits, starting with himself.
The problem with Quinn wasn’t that he was very corrupt, he was just not very smart and was the puppet of the Chicago Democrat machine. I don’t think he was smart or brave enough to be corrupt. Well, now he can go back home and mow his grass with his crappy old push mower like in his TV ads. Who wants a Governor who’s dumb enough to use a push mower? ;-)
