Hogan did a great job campaigning (obviously). His signs were all over Maryland in contrast to Brown who had barely any. Marylanders have had it with excessive taxes and government overreach at both the state and federal levels.

But honestly, I didn’t think Hogan would win. And I’m absolutely thrilled to be proven wrong!

Let’s review

I guess my source was right - to a tee. I wonder how the Pokeman forum fared.

KY, AR, CO, IA, KS, GA - all won by the GOP. So I guess it wasn’t BS.

btw, what happen to those “minority voter in NC and GA”?

In Arizona, with 50% of the vote in, McSally is just over a point behind Barbor

Nope you are not...I believe you mean well for our party and you steer where we definitely need to be and I agree...just our electorate has shifted so greatly I don’t think they’re ready for a fast pull to the right....ease them into the light :-)

This feels like 1994 again with the scope of the gains. But actually GOP has gained even more Senate seats this time, and knocked off more incumbents than in 1994.

One DU idiot is considering Cali but is concerned about the radiation there from Fukushima...

Get a load of this comment on the Dump:

"I was homeless for the past 20 months and JUST moved into my new place (room rental) on Saturday. My mother, bless her heart, helped me get inside but I know how it is out there. People are getting homeless quick and getting un homeless slow. Shit is bad, the end is nigh, I wish it wasn't but it is the case.

Good insight about the gentle calm. Things are going to pop and I hope that I am reincarnated as someone cool."

Geeez Louise! I don't even know where to begin. These nutcases really think the world's about to end.

Yeah, I think only 2 Senate Dem incumbents went down then. I could have that confused with another year.

West Virginia

Capito 62.0%

Tennant 34.6

Huge margin for Republican. Republicans need to recruit Joe Manchin to the party since WV is finally becoming very red. It has been mentioned, but I don’t know how possible it might be.

90% of them should be in straight jackets and on some serious antipsychotic meds....or save the world entirely the $$$ with 5.56

However while I am 100% against abortion after having read DU tonight I can get a glimpse why some adamantly fight for it ;-)

I’m a native Adirondack park guy. the people up there vote D because their parents and GGgreat grandparents did. Because D is for the working man.

Look up my old home in the Tri Lakes and see what the working man livs like today with the logging industry decimated and the mills closed.

Here's one of the better (and more illuminating) comments from the crying thread at DU:

"Who the hell does Stewart think his audience is? If he suspected it would be a "bloodbath," as he so eloquently put it, based on what polls were warning us, why would he book someone like Priebus? To rub salt in our wounds? He's dead to me, along with Chris Mathews. This whole night has been sickening. I ****ing hate Steve Israel and Debbie W-Schultz--they are ruining out party.

Anyone wanna place bets on how soon The House will start the impeachment bullsh*t?"

WOW. They are seriously melting down.
