The Neenah mail carrier who dumped hundreds of GOP political mailers in an apartment complex Dumpster wasnt politically motivated; the postal worker just didnt feel like delivering the stacks of campaign advertisements, according to preliminary findings from the U.S. Postal Service Office of the Inspector General.
Based upon our investigation, this was nothing done toward a specific candidate or party. It looks like it was a decision made by the carrier, and it was not a good decision, to not deliver the campaign advertisements, Robert Rukes, special agent with the inspector generals office in Chicago, told Wisconsin Reporter Monday.
A lot of times, what happened in this situation, you have a carrier who felt overwhelmed with the volume of mail so they decided to discard some of the mail without delivering, Rukes added.
Due to the ongoing investigation, Rukes declined to identify the mail carrier, who, according to the special agent, dumped 879 pieces of political mail Thursday.
As Wisconsin Reporter first reported Sunday, the political mailings were from the campaigns of Mike Rohrkaste, Republican candidate for Wisconsins 55th Assembly District, and Glenn Grothman, a Republican state senator running for the open 6th Congressional District seat, as well as political messages from a special interest group in support of former state Rep. Roger Roth, a Republican who is running for Wisconsin 19th Senate District seat.
Rukes confirmed that Neenah postal officials responded to the apartment complex and verified the mailers had been unloaded in the Dumpster. A resident had witnessed the mail carrier dump the campaign literature, according to Rukes.
There were no reports that campaign mailers from Democratic Party candidates have been similarly mishandled.

This is only a believable defense if there has been a similar number of DEMOCRAT mailers dumped at the same time and in a similar manner. This is way beyond lazy, it reveals open malice.
Said postal worker should have been dismissed immediately, and in the real world, would have been long gone for tampering with the integrity of the US mail delivery service. There are probably a wide range of disciplinary measures in the reams of regulations that make up the specific part of the US code that applies to the US Postal Service, but who is to say they are being enforced.
In an organized and well-administered scheme of government, there are just some things that are not trifled with. This is only a sign of how far the rot has proceeded.
Even Newman wasn’t this evil.
Dumping has been going on for years———most of the time it’s non political stuff.
I wouldn’t read too much into this.

Has his promotion and transfer to the Internal Revenue Service gone through yet?
As Ace Ventura: “Well Allrighty Then.”
Isn't that sweet? So if I feel overwhelmed by the volume of work collecting at my desk, I can just dump whatever I want until I feel comfortable?
And, I can keep my job and not even be identified?
Sounds like nice work if you can get it.
I’m a registered Republican. I didn’t get a ballot. Also my friend didn’t either. We live in Oregon. Expect massive voter fraud. I saw it first hand this election. First year I have never received a ballot. It’s already Monday, I have been declined the right to vote.
Yes it is a very serious Federal Crime and has some serious consequences.
Under the U.S. Code, a Postal Service officer or employee who “unlawfully secretes, destroys, detains, delays, or opens any letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail entrusted to him or which shall come into his possession, and which was intended to be conveyed by mail, or carried or delivered by any carrier or other employee of the Postal Service” is subject to a criminal penalty of up to five years in prison, a fine, or both.
Thank you.
Now we'll see if reality matches the statute. To make any inroads against vote fraud, people who do this will need to be tried, convicted and imprisoned.
I didn’t know you could opt out
Isn't Oregon one of those states where you can only vote by bulk mail? Don't the ballots have to be delivered to the voters by a certain date?
And how does the chain of custody work for those things? Do you just drop them in the mail and hope they arrive? Are return addresses cross-checked with voter registrations, so the counters know which envelopes to lose?
Scripture says sloth is a sin.
In this case, it is a Federal felony. But let’s just look the other way this time, wink, nudge.
Didn’t the campaigns pay for the delivery of these mailers? They have been defrauded. I would sue the crap out of the Post Office.
It looks like it was a decision made by the carrier, and it was not a good decision, to not deliver the campaign advertisements, Robert Rukes, special agent with the inspector generals office in Chicago, told Wisconsin Reporter Monday.
Really? Not doing your job and throwing mail away is not a good decision? Who knew.........
He’s only selectively lazy, lazy about delivering GOP mailings. That’s all.
Actually he’s now well qualified to move to MN and run for the Al Franken seat in the Senate ;-)
He delivered it. Just to the wrong place...............
Playboy and Hustler magazines? I bet there are a few missing.....................
This a-hole will get a raise and a lifetime pension they didn’t deserve.
The Post Office needs to be shutterd. It’s usefulness is over.
