Cancel the Midterms

By Tuesday night about 90 million Americans will have cast ballots in an election thats almost certain to create greater partisan divisions, increase gridlock and render governance of our complex nation even more difficult. Ninety million sounds like a lot, but that means that less than 40 percent of the electorate will bother to vote...
The main impact of the midterm election in the modern era has been to weaken the president, the only government official (other than the powerless vice president) elected by the entire nation. Since the end of World War II, the presidents party has on average lost 25 seats in the House and about 4 in the Senate as a result of the midterms...

No cancel the presidency. this worthless piece of excrement has reduced the office of the president to that of a used car salesman whom has a bargain car for sale - free for the asking , but it requires a down payment and a monthly payment yet to be determined. Yes insurance is optional, but it is required too. The president speaks out of both sides of his mouth or maybe it is that he has his head stuck so far up his backside that he speaks out of his navel.

Well, it’s gonna be a landslide of epic proportions. Democrats are staying in or voting pub, and everyone else voting pub. No amount of voter fraud can save them now. No one can stuff ballot boxes fast enough, hell there’s probably not even enough ballots.

And he isn't even right there. The president is elected by the electors of each state.
But, I'd keep the 2 year House of Reps exactly where it's at. If it was considered wise in an age when a horse and buggy carrying a messenger took weeks, then it's even easier (and more necessary) in an age when we can talk real time to someone on the other side of the planet. We could probably justify 1 year terms for reps and 4 year terms for senators.

Good catch.
In fact, if Junior and his Mentor are so concerned about this not reflecting the will of the people, then why not argue for term limits to reduce the amount of seniority and coziness that comes with “semi-tenured” politics?
But that doesn’t fit the Demonrats First & Only Agenda

But especially at a time when Americans confidence in the ability of their government to address pressing concerns is at a record low, two-year House terms no longer make any sense. We should get rid of federal midterm elections entirely.
WTF are you talking about? This is EXACTLY why we need to have two-year terms ACROSS THE BOARD, at EVERY level, not JUST the House.
There are few offices, at any level of government, with two-year terms. Moreover, Twitter, ubiquitous video cameras, 24-hour cable news and a host of other technologies provide a level of hyper-accountability the framers could not possibly have imagined. In the modern age, we do not need an election every two years to communicate voters desires to their elected officials.
The line of reasoning (or lack of therein) shows the utter ignorance and stupidity that has invaded our country and culture. Just watching something happen via tv or internet, does NOT change the system. And neither does discussing it on tv or even on the internet. It's not about communicating voter's desires....it's about getting officials to do as they are elected to do FOR the people who elected them, NOT for themselves. And changing the people who represent you, is what is needed to change things. Hence the reason to VOTE.
But the two-year cycle isnt just unnecessary; its harmful to American politics.
This opinionated douchebag obviously has a limited grasp on reality and a very very ignorant grasp on what a Constitutional Republic is.
The main impact of the midterm election in the modern era has been to weaken the president, the only government official (other than the powerless vice president) elected by the entire nation.
Um no....the ENTIRE NATION did NOT elect this traitorous FRAUD. And by the way, he's weak because not only is he the most inexperienced, unqualified, pathetic excuse for a President EVER in our American history, but he's also working against our entire political system, and against everything America stands for. His agenda is working to destroy the US of A and the western way of life.
The realities of the modern election cycle are that we spend almost two years selecting a president with a well-developed agenda, but then, less than two years after the inauguration, the midterm election cripples that same presidents ability to advance that agenda.
You're DAMN STRAIGHT if this midterm is helping to "weaken" his power and stop his ability to advance his agenda....it SHOULD!!! This is NOT a dictatorship...or an empire. Obama is NOT a King. And the people are going to speak loud and clear to that, IMO. The minority in this country may think they want that kind of empirical government, but they are stupid and have no idea what they wish for. Obama should not be allowed to advance the agenda of destroying freedom. And our government should never become one of complete bipartisanship. It SHOULD have separate sides, and currently, we don't have right vs. left...we have right vs. wrong....good vs. evil. Literally. And it's obvious what side this opinionated blowhard is on.
What should be changed is the amount of time people are allowed to campaign, IMO. If I recall, Obama has been campaigning since well before he took office in 2008....and has NEVER stopped. That's ALL he does. Fundraising, campaigning...touring the country, for himself, for others, etc. When has he really been doing HIS job as President? Also what should be changed, is lobbyists and special interest groups and how they are able to contribute to a candidate. Democrats only win because they lie, cheat and steal. If they had to do things honestly and on the up and up, they'd lose very time, IMO.
The government should, through a constitutional amendment, extend the term of House members to four years and adjust the term of senators to either four or eight years, so that all elected federal officials would be chosen during presidential election years. Doing so would relieve some (though, of course, not all) of the systemic gridlock afflicting the federal government and provide members of Congress with the ability to focus more time and energy on governance instead of electioneering.
I will give him this though, I agree that there should be more focus on governance instead of electioneering. But I don't agree with his reasoning on how to get there. If any amendment to the Constitution should be made, it should be Term limits on EVERY elected official. And not this 24 year crap. It should be 8 years or less, with NO PAY, PENSION or BENEFITS once they leave office. They should also not be allowed to make more than 35K a year, while in office. I bet if changes like those are made, not only would money be saved, but I bet most elected officials actually DO something to make change FOR the people, instead of themselves.

Liberals only talk of “weakened presidents” when it is their own. Their presidents are always weak and always have been. They get us into wars due to their pussyfooting around on the world stage. Just look at all the weak-kneed losers they elected and the resulting wars they got us into.

It does mark further development within the Democrat party of the position, originally developed after November 2000, that simple arithmetical counting of votes was not sufficient to render a result legitimate.
The idiot Boehner and his claque have failed, every time, to respond to "Obama" saying that the "Republican House" was somehow illegitimate because it was frustrating the General Will, embodied by him. This is the easiest pitch to hit out of the park - the House exists, in fact, the ONLY reason it exists, is to get a readout on the will of the People as frequently as possible.
Obama's re-election, in terms of constitutional theology, is not nearly as significant as the fact that the People, as soon as it became clear what "Obama" was up to, have returned a Republican House twice and are about to do it again.
Of course, Boehner doesn't believe in the Constitution any more than "Obama" does, so the importance of his role is completely lost on him.

I made the following prediction last May or June: If you WANTED another terrorist attack on US soil, what would you do?
1. Publicly rebuke Isreal, sending a clear message to the islamofascists
..Done already by John Kerry!
2. Take passive approach with terrorist regimes
..Done consistently by this admin with Libya, Syria, etc.
3. Remove US military might from terrorist strong-holds
.Done with removal of troops from Iraq, now we see it being re-taken by terrorists.
4. Allow Iran to enrich uranium which can be weaponized
done earlier this year.
5. Open the borders to allow anyone to enter
.happening now.
6. Release known high level terrorist scumbags back to their home region, allowing them to re-enter the planning to attack the US
.Check.
7. Demoralize our fighting men and women
..It has been happening consistently with this administration but has been accelerating with the VA treatment, the Sgt Tamareesi situation and now with the celebrating of the defector.
Now, why would anyone WANT a terrorist attack on US soil? Imagine if it were to occur within the next 2 years....
Well, then you would have a reason for delaying an election as you work hard to protect the citizens. It isnt as if this administration has a respect for the rule of law or anything, so why would they feel obligated to follow election laws
.
After all, imagine an event worse than 9-11 and then ask yourself if that could cause the populace to cry for action.

Well let’s look at the bright side of this article for a moment. These fascists wouldn’t write this crap unless they were pretty sure the results would be outside the margin of fraud. So long as the election can be stolen, go ahead and have it. But if they can’t steal it, cancel it.
So I feel better about tomorrow already. Oh, and all you dem readers of the NYT out there; read this article. The election was cancelled. Stay home and wait for the EBT card.
