In an incident mirroring a recent California case, a Marine in Maryland who served overseas and fought against Islamic extremists was barred from school premises when he protested his daughter learning about what he called “the benefits of Islam” at her Maryland high school.
Kevin Wood asked that she be excused from class while that subject was discussed, but La Plata High School refused, prompting Wood to argue with the school. That triggered the school to issue a no-trespassing order, reported Pennlive.
Station USA9 reported that Wood, presently a firefighter, said he had not made any threats. Wood and his wife said that if Islam was going to be taught, current events should be part of the lesson. Melissa Wood said, “That's I guess our biggest concern right now is how they're teaching it and what is really going on right now in this world." Kevin Wood added,"[Schools] are not teaching about radical Islam right now - going around beheading people in America and Australia and they're not teaching that. They're just teaching, 'Oh, it's peaceful.' And it's not peaceful."
Zainab Chaudry, Maryland Outreach Manager for CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said she was "saddened but not surprised," continuing, "Unfortunately there is a growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States. It's important that if these [extremist] groups are mentioned [in schools] and that students are taught about that, that a distinction is made so students understand that these groups are not following the teachings of true Islam."

Ah yes, the many benefits of Islam.........women must put on black garbage bags, they can’t go out alone, they can’t drive, they can’t get an education, they are guilty if they are raped, anyone who doesn’t care to join is threatened with death, music is un-Islamic, all infidels must be killed, etc., etc..........what’s not to like?
true....but homeschool is better for the kids. Financially it is tough..
maryland is such a cesspool i wont even go back for school reunions.
As for home school, that probably wouldn't work as I really struggle helping them with just their homework! I would make a poor educator, academic-wise!

How would a parent feel about sending their child to a place where the parent is not allowed access if something should come up? Wouldn't the parent want unfettered access to their child if necessary?

I think you’d make a great homeschooler. Teachers who learn with their students are often the favorite teachers. There are plenty of online and other resources, and people who can correspond with you.
Besides, no one would have more of an impact than you. YOU. The time you’d spend with your child as opposed to on a part-time job would be well worth it for you both.
Sadly it's not merely babysitting, but essentially the abdication of parental rights/responsibilities.
One of the ten planks of the Communist Manifesto is Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc. etc.
In that the statists have been very successful.
You don’t protest to the school. You simply take action to pull your kid out...and then run for the hills because they will come chasing to get your kid back into their grasps.

That fireman should be educating his own daughter and pushing to de-fund public education.
Exactly, eventually our military members will be treated like lepers instead of heroes and our military will be full of corrupted evil men instead of patriotic God fearing Americans.
Then what will happen when the muslims start killing us one by one? We won’t go to war, because there will be no patriots. We’re committing national suicide. Islam is a scourge, incompatible with the West. They would still all be living in the dark ages if the Western world didn’t rise up while they ate scraps of technology and knowledge from our table. Soon they will be big enough to bite off the hand that feeds them.
Something needs to be done about this, if these “coexist” idiots aren’t made to fold a lot of people are going to die. The weaker we get, the stronger islam and all the traitors in government get. We won’t be able to win.
You know, I did not once think the leftist before Obama was guilty of high treason. A murderer, liar, thief, and adulterer yes, but a traitor? Not once.
I see evidence and hear rumors about Obama all the time and I have a gut feeling he is and always has been an enemy of the United States. The greatest successful trojan horse of all time.
What will it take to bring the world back from the brink of World War III? I’m not sure, but I think it starts in the West, if anything can be done. However....It is tuition-free at the point of entry. This causes truly evil consequences for all caught in its police enforced net ( student, parent, and taxpayer).
Government schooling is **fundamentally** a price-fixed ( at tuition-free), monopoly, compulsory-use, and compulsory-funded socialist-entitlement! And...It is GODLESS in the worldview taught to all children. It is evil.
Children attending government schools:
1) WILL learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the godless classroom. How could it be otherwise?
2) Risk learning that the same voting mob that gives them tuition-free schooling can give them **lots** of “free” stuff! It only took one to three generations of SS schooling ( single-payer and socialist-entitlement schooling) to give the nation two Roosevelts and one Woodrow Wilson!
Government schooling is evil to its core and all conservative should work to abolish it.
It is:
1) Teaching the child to think godlessly as the godless worldview is constantly force fed into his innocent soul.
2) teaching the child that the same voting mob that gives him tuition-free schooling is the same mob that can give him **lots** of “free” stuff!
Government schooling is evil schooling and all serious conservatives should be working for its complete abolishment. It is not reformable and complaining to the school district is a complete waste of time. Put these evil people out of a job by eliminating this corrupt institution.
Just imagine what our military will be like when muscular gays run the show.
