"Those are his personal choices. Ill tell you, I love my iPhone," Cruz said.
"Listen, Tim Cook makes his personal decisions, and that is his life. My focus is on the constitutional question of who has the authority to make decisions," he later added.
Cruz said that marriage is a "question for the states" because of the country's federalist system.
"This is something weve seen over and over again, which is the federal government and federal courts deciding they dont trust the people," Cruz said. "They look down on the people, they dont trust us to make judgments about our own lives, so the federal government and federal courts are going to step in and impose their own policy preferences."

“Homosexual “marriage” is as impossible as “Free Slavery.”
May I please borrow that to illustrate the point next time someone acts as if “homosexual marriage” is a real deal? It is one of the simplest and best explanations I’ve come across...
bttt
I thought the same thing, but then I figured he can just say "I was addressing his decision to go public."
I think Cook deliberately "came out" as a PR ploy & way to keep Apple cool & relevant. Even the U.S. Post Office came out (no pun intended) with a stamp of Harvey Milk in order to attract younger patrons.
Business has become ferociously obsessed with youth and sexiness. It's frightening that "gay appeal" is now the primary criteria for a company or organization's viability.
Pretty straightforward that if the Creator condemns an act and says don’t do it and an actor disobeys, the Author of the commandment will be offended (and angry). Are you homosexual?
So, we become a theocracy? Is that your winning formula? I love how Conservatives believe in the Constitution up to the point that some of them can insert a Bible verse, then out the window it goes. So, according to you (based on your posts) We should quote Bible scripture to decide on the issues of the day? I am a Christian and even I know that strategy is not only a loser, it will doom conservatives and the GOP to a PERMANENT minority. And before your denials, please review your posts, many of them fit this description. Unless you do not believe what you are posting?
What is Cruz supposed to do about a guy who prowls around Rump Range in his spare time? Monitor the jerk? Like Ted, Tim’s erotic passions are not my concern.
We are electing a president, not a pope. We do not live in a theocracy. If the purists want to keep on living under the Democrat boot, keep on being pecksniffian about the candidates’ moral purity (in their opinion) long, long before they are even nominated, making sure that a “good enough” candidate will not stand a chance, and we will always be stuck with awful GOP candidates nominated by the leftist media.
The Democrats win because the RINO’s refuse to support conservatives.
um....ok?
I’m totally not getting where you got all of that from my one question.
How do you explain the outrageous behavior of Jesus Christ dining with publicans and sinners?
On reading the headline and excerpt, my first impression was that this: Those are his personal choices was a full-on slam to the ridiculous homo assertion that Nature chooses to randomoly work against itself with some biologically self-negating gene which mandates sodomy.
And then following it up with: Ill tell you, I love my iPhone with a masterstroke of sarcasm.
disclaimer: then again, i've been wrong a couple times this century . . .
This would be the same thing if he weren’t “gay” and instead sleeping around with women. It’s his choice. God gives us all choices, and this guy isn’t even Christian. No Christian has any reason to tell him “God says...” Because he doesn’t love God, and will do nothing but “demonize” the Gospel in his eyes. It’s between him and God. You’re better off just telling him the Gospel instead of chastising him for his immoral lifestyle in order to get him to change. Furthermore, Cruz doesn’t know this guy. Why is anything this guy does of any interest to him?
Of course you also have the Osmond Brothers:
“One bad Apple doesn’t spoil the whole bunch girls”
If God is going to smite me because there is a gay CEO I think he should just get on with it already.
Just gotta love people like you who condemn people like me because you think you’ve interpreted something your way.
Lot of Islamists do that to us Jews too. Take a ticket and get in line.
.. randomly, even !
“Cruz and his supporters think they can bob and weave and triangulate and thread the needle and figure the odds.
I have news for them. God will not be mocked. Those who deny Christ will be denied by him before his Father.”
Cruz gave the perfect reply. He is running for President, not for Pope. He is to protect the peoples Constitutional rights, that is his job, not to preach morality. The media wanted him to say what you just said and he dodged it masterfully.
Sórt of like Timmy outing himself as a.vevetariaa vegetarian. Bet he feels like he always has felt that way.
I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me. - Tim Cook
Arrogance and insane stupidity.
God stated VERY clearly the homosexual lifestyle is so evil that it’s an obamanation.
Homosexuality cannot be both evil and the “greatest gift from God”.
“So the homosexual agenda isn’t an issue that “BurningOak” actually cares about? “Burning” is apt for you or will be”
Ted Cruz answered question perfectly. He is running for President not Pope. He stood up for the persecuted pastors in Houston. He opposes gay marriage by judicial fiat because it ignores both federalism and the will of the people. He is a Christian and 100% pro-family, but his role as would be President is to preserve freedom and the Constitution, not to preach from the oval office.
He gets it. Which is why he is our best chance at a true conservative President.
Cruz spoke well in redirecting the conversation to who gets to make the decisions. Laws in harmony with Christianity are the result of Christians paying attention to the political process and making their volunteer efforts count, as well as demanding accountability from elected officials.
Once a law is passed, it is ineffectual and a waste of breath to shame the people taking advantage of the law, such as people who now consider gay marriage an option for their own lives. Where were the Christians during the past 30 years when the gay-is-OK snowball was building up and up? They were staying away from the polls then because no candidate was pure enough. Or because their holy Christian minds were keeping them in denial -- I remember trying to warn Christian friends of mine in the South that this issue would be picking up steam, and they treated me like I was the devil even for mentioning it in their holy Christian vicinity. Next thing you know, judges took away their Ten Commandments statue and overturned their traditional marriage laws.
The corruption in our present society will not be turned back by sitting home or refusing to vote for a candidate who is manifestly better than the Democrat Socialist opposition, just because the arguably more conservative choice is not perfect enough. And it will not be turned back by government, either even if a government of conservatives could somehow be elected; but by a great awakening in the hearts of the majority of the people, who can then influence government in the right direction.
The brownshirt tactics of the media in trying to find something to get Cruz on so they can take the quote and demonize him is nothing new.
God help Ted and all of us to find good answers just at the Lord himself did in the Good Book when those that hated him asked questions to use his answers against him.
