If you want to see someone on the progressive left blow a gasket, talk about voter fraud. They will all tell you that it doesnt exist or its so small its immeasurable. I say they cant see the forest for the trees!
The hard part about voter fraud is, you have to prove the person knew what they were doing was illegal. Imagine hearing this at the poll:
Poll worker: Hello, your name?
Fraudulent voter: John Smith.
Poll Worker: Sign here Mr. Smith and Ill give you your ballot.
Poll Worker: Sir, do you know if you are NOT Mr. Smith and you are voting for him its a federal offense punishable by fines and jail time?
Mr Smith: Yes, Mr. Poll Worker, and I assure you Im Mr. Smith.
Please!!!! Have you ever heard this at the polls? Never!
One state assembly person voted 19 times, and yes, she finally got caught. She tried to say that she didnt remember voting (18 extra times?)
In Florida, major cases of voter fraud go back to 1984 when it became so bad that it was hard to miss. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, types of voter fraud included:
Someone voting on behalf of someone else. Purchasing or selling absentee ballots or someones vote. Non-city residents voting in municipal elections. Changing of ballots. Voting by absentee ballots under the name of deceased persons. Voting in the election by non-U.S. citizens. False statements or information being provided with regard to address information or changes of addresses on voter registrations. Possible use of certain addresses within the City limits as the new address for persons not residing within the City; done with the apparent sole purpose of permitting voting in the municipal election.
Andrew Ladanowski, owner of a computer software company, suspected Floridas Division of Elections wasnt really verifying any information.
There were over 700 voter ID cards in Florida that seemed to have been duplicated. He verified his suspicions by dong a quick analysis of Miami-Dades voting systems where, it turned out, there were 44 voter IDs issued to the same person. Elections officials admit 42 of those 44 were duplicates. But what I want to know is, cant the computer systems find these issues? Cant we divert some of the millions of dollars wasted on the Obamacare site (or any one of the hundreds of other government programs wasting good tax money) to cleaning up voter registrations?
When finished he found over 762 Florida voters have more than one county-issued voter ID card. Some are registered with the same address, and others are registered in different counties. And a computer cant flag this information, why?
But, hey, voter fraud doesnt really exist. If you Google voter fraud cases the first 2 pages come up with articles basically saying voter fraud doesnt exist. Knowing how Google has been accused of, and actually caught, rigging search results, I kept digging. Guess what? Further back in the search result you can find the truth. Unfortunately, most people dont dig that deep.
I found tidbits like this all over left-leaning loon sites. VOTER FRAUD FACT: Opponents of the Democratic party like Fox News and opponents of Government in general like the Koch Brothers and are just some of the powerful groups behind the Voter Fraud Controversy in the United States. They stand to lose the most money and power if Republicans lose elections. (http://voterfraudfacts.com/)
If theres really no voter fraud happening, I fail to see how expending the effort to clean up voter rolls (that supposedly dont have a problem) will change the outcome of an election. If theres no fraud, there wont be anything to fix. So whats the problem?
There are over 81,000 voter irregularities on the Los Angeles County voter rolls. That includes duplicate names at same address with one name simply missing a middle initial or potential typo of a name (such as connors vs. conors) with the same birth dates, sex, etc. Another 3100 are dead or are registered out-of-state. But liberals would have us just look the other way. Theres no fraud going on here!
North Carolina is looking into almost 800 cases of voter fraud. In 2010, out of 7500 votes cast, over 2600 were cast by people ranging in ages from 110-140! I guess if you want to live a long life, move to North Carolina! Dont worry, theres no voter fraud here!
There are about 28 states now that share voter registration information. Its not automatic. The Secretary of State has to request updates and data dumps to cross-reference voters. North Carolina is one of those states cross-checking voters. And in the first year of doing it they found over 36,000 registered voters had voted in more than one state! Yup, no voter fraud here!
Iowa recently referred over 80 cases for investigation. Texas is investigating over 311, with 51 convictions so far and they are still moving through them. Ohio has 19 documented cases with one case being an elected official who said she voted twice for Obama. Her granddaughter also voted twice (her first time voting!) Both used the absentee and poll voting methods. Georgia is investigating 301 cases. Most states report investigations of suspected voter fraud. Massachusetts, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and South Dakota dont release information as to whether or not there are investigations into alleged voter fraud or not. Hmmmm? That doesnt sound very transparent.
In Maricopa county Arizona, the Blaze reports a person wearing a Citizens for a Better Arizona t-shirt dropped a large box of hundreds of early ballots on the table and started stuffing the ballot box as a poll worker watched in amazement. When questioned by poll observer his response was none of your business. No fraud here, right?
Fraudulent voting activity is all over the place, including double voting, impersonation, vote buying or selling, ineligible voting, voter registration issues, and absentee voting issues.
So, let me see if I have this right. You guys on the far Left are good with
Same day registration and voting. No ID. No proof of residency. No proof of citizenship. And you think none of that can easily lead to voter fraud? Are you serious?
Unfortunately, voter fraud is next to impossible to prove, and it must be done on a ballot-by-ballot basis, which is costly, and is also why you dont hear much in the way of prosecution.
But if you left-leaning folks really want a victory instead of a hollow win under the suspicion of cheating, then start requiring ID to vote, stop same-day registration and voting, and institute mandatory voter registration verification between counties and states. And, poll workers need to be English-speaking, United States citizens who are trained properly on how to operate the polls.
Otherwise, the Right will eventually get their turn and lets see you try to cry foul then!
How many other "forgetful" Rat voters did NOT get caught?
Or to paraphrase our president, there is no voter fraud, period.
Unfortunately, voter fraud, more properly termed government fraud, is much more pernicious than this article suggests. As Lenin explained over eighty years ago, “It only matters who counts the votes.”(sic) States have the responsibility for administering elections, and George Soros invested in picking state’s attorney’s general over ten years ago.
Think about it. Once a vote is cast, whether by mail, by marking a ballot, or touching a screen it is no longer traceable. Once we had paper ballots that could be recounted. Yes, boxes of ballots could be and were lost, but each local precinct counted those ballots before they went home, and before the ballots were sent, under guard, to a bonded warehouse. Today, with electronic voting, there is no precinct oversight.
If the NSA can monitor every packet sent over the internet, they can access voting data, if it even exists, using mechanisms most engineers can explain. The bottom line is that unlike Germany, which returned to paper ballots, Israel, and a few other honest governments, our governments, with the some big crony friends like Google, is well along with a completely Internet-based voting systems. This permits absolutely no audit trail, and insures that there can be no trust that any election has validity.
It is sport in many university departments of electrical engineering to hack voting machines. No machines used in the U.S. have not been penetrated - easily. In a recent election a large number of the machines deployed were manufactured by a Venezuelan company. U.S. Federal courts have determined that the software deployed on computer-based machines could not be examined because it is protected intellectual property. The problem of how to protect the integrity of voting is an open problem. Only paper ballots, as agreed by the Germans, provide for an audit trail. Paper isn’t perfect, but depending upon the ethics of a bit on digital media is preying on the naivety of most citizens. Altering stored numbers, if those controlling the votes even bother, is trivial to a freshman computer science student.
Look at the many states reporting votes from 110% of eligible voters. Look at the fiasco of Alan West’s recent election, where the recounts changed, by large percentages, with every recount, and West was not allowed access even to the precinct results, presumably machine-generated. There are thousands of reported examples, dating from before the excellent book “Votescam”, which documented and federal involvement in fixing an election in Broward County, where voting machines were fixed and the count reported before several precincts had even reported.
We are not a representative republic any longer. Both major political parties are complicit in eliminating that inconvenience of public preferences.
Anyone heard of voter fraud going in the other direction - voting DemoRat and having it changed to Republican? Anyone?
Seems the guy has his head buried in the sand. There is proof without a doubt that it is occurring. Democrats make it easier to happen because it helps them win.
I agree.
The check's in the mail!
I promise I'll still love you in the morning.
I'm from the government and I'm here to help...
The category should be obvious, and I'm sure there are more.. ;-)
No voter fraud on the Left....?
Hahahahahahahahaha!
Oh, thanks - I needed a good laugh.
Interesting how some well meaning and for the most part honest liberals tolerate those on the left who they know are actively involved in cheating. It makes sense only if these good people consider conservatives evil...think Hitler and the Nazis!!
The left defends the most liberal voter policies possible as if their lives depended on it. When every other rational argument has been applied, and yet they still defend the indefensible, you know the only thing left is that they depend on cheating to win.
The one that always gets me is when they say “there’s no evidence voter impersonation occurs”. When you don’t look for it, and there’s no method, system or document to check, OF COURSE there’s no evidence it’s happening.
Imagine Barney Fife asleep at the station as the sole deputy on-duty for the graveyard shift, while cars and trucks drive un-checked on the 4-lane highway that passes thru town. According to liberal logic, clearly none are speeding because none have been caught, and no tickets have been issued.
RIDICULOUS!
Funny how the left wants massive rules and regs for every facet of society...except voting.
I've grown to agree with a distinction somewhat like RIghtwardHo's. We have voter fraud, but we also have election fraud.
When a New York snowbird is registered in New York and Florida and votes in both places, that's voter fraud. When someone casts the write-in ballot for a dead relative, or a former resident, or votes in person and casts an absentee ballot, that's voter fraud. When a non-citizen registers to vote using a driver's license obtained through the Motor Voter law, and then casts a vote, that's voter fraud.
However, if a voting machine is 'calibrated' to switch R votes to D, that's election fraud. If a 'grassroots' group collects discarded ballots and uses them to generate a few hundred votes, that's election fraud. When a person votes in person and casts an absentee ballot and they were taught to do so by a an organized group or political party, it smells more like election fraud to me than voter fraud. When a union or the local D generate records of voters, sometimes alphabetical, who didn't actually vote, that's election fraud. ACORN was election fraud, not voter fraud. Ad infinitum.
I personally think the number of fraudulent votes generated by what I would term "election fraud" outweighs the number of fraudulent votes generated by what I would term "voter fraud," but I'm the person making the distinction between the two categories and I'm the person making the guess. I'm not doing any math.
However, I don't dismiss voter fraud. I think voter fraud is a problem. As I differentiate the terms, I'd guess that election fraud creates more fraudulent votes than voter fraud because that's what I pulled out of my hat. However, voter fraud is a problem.
re: “cant the computer systems find these issues?” After the Bush-Gore election, Sen Chris Dodd pushed through HAVA - Help America Vote Act. This spends hundreds of millions...maybe billions.. on voter hardware and software. You may be surprised to learn that Dodd’s Conneticut friend Jerry Long of PCC said “It’s as if it were written specifically for me.”
Move-on.org lashed out at the Diebold hardware it funded... until Move-on discovered that is was engineered precisely for the automated vote-switching by Dodd’s friends.
PCC does the software. Its contracts say the software will be developed in the US. But one wonders why the Indian team-leads in CT are always going to India. How many dying relatives can they possibly have? And while there, it sure seems like they are in closer direct supervision of the developers than when they are in the US.
The software is a mess. The result is that elections are a mess. Nobody knows who is registered and who isn’t. In that ambiguity a person can always claim “The computer lost my registration” ... And you know what, it might be true.
A Republican official in an effort to be bi-partisan and work with the Democrats in control of election software took the HAVA money as FREE MONEY he didn’t have to beg the legislature for. So he took the 30 pieces of silver. (Did the staff person who convinced him to take the 30 pieces get more than 30 for himself when he left the Republican staff for a juicy position at PCC?”)
When the civil rights groups scream “racism” they are not aware that it is a setup their own side has arranged... and a trap the Republican has fallen into.
It is voter suppression. Supressing American’s will.
In normal cases, I might agree. But RIghtward HO pisses on every good idea we have, and always has nothing but Debbie Downer comments. He’s a Concern Troll, who may have accidentally tipped the hand on what the liberals do en-masse with the election fraud.
We don't always agree when we talk, but when we agree not to agree it's frequently with laughter, a spirit of friendship, and a realization (I believe) that we're not really that far apart, all sprinkled with kind things said about FR.
Soon. I owe you a meal as a result of the wedding cop-out. We know this won't be a major part of the discussion - bigger things are brewing - but we can mention it.
