NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke candidly about the problems facing the black community when appearing on a Philadelphia radio station, accusing unintelligent, brainwashed African-Americans of keeping successful ones down.

Barkley said that young black men who do well in school are accused of acting white by their peers. One of the reasons were never going to be successful as a whole, because of other black people. And for some reason we are brainwashed to think, if youre not a thug or an idiot, youre not black enough. If you go to school, make good grades, speak intelligent, and dont break the law, youre not a good black person.
Under the bus you now must go, Charles.
A high school teacher told me he praised a black boy for his work. The next day the kid was absent. He had ben beaten by the other blacks. He never again turned in another homework or passed a test.
Blacks are their own worst enemy. Charles, it isn’t a secret. We whites have known about his for decades.
Charles seems to have come full circle on this subject. If I remember right he was at one time considered to be conservative. Then he bought into the progg mindset. Now it appears he has come to his senses.
If so, welcome back Charles. The country needs all the help we can give it.
To Charles Barkley, like 90-95% of black people life is first, last and always race. Everything else is a distant, very distant second.
I do not dislike Charles Barkley, but I would not want to know or associate with him. I, no longer will live my life tiptoeing through the eggshells.
Sorry Charlie, but we have been told over and over that it is the White man keeping the Black man down.
Chaz is quite a conundrum...an enigma.
He says some really smart things - then follows it up with something just as stupid. He has a conservative instinct, but he beats it back with the assumption that he should be a liberal. No doubt voted Obama.
Not too different from what Dr William Cosby PhD has said many times and been roundly denigrated for an equal number of times. Yet I know that many in their community know it for the truth, it is just that the ‘leadership’ profits from the dark side of ‘plantation ownership’, ‘race baiting’ RAP and Gangsta music and victimhood status. Then again, when the MSM look to Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Oprah as ‘leaders’ and ignore Dr Willams, Dr Sowell and Dr Carson, what can we expect?
How many know what he meant when he said it's like "crabs in a barrel".
Many people love steamed Chesapeake Blue Crabs. It can be fascinating to see the Chesapeake Watermen harvest their crab pots.
They put the crabs from the crab pots into a barrel or more correctly, a bushel basket. Look closely and you notice they dont secure lids on the baskets but none of the crabs escape.
The reason is that as soon as one of the crabs manage to claw their way to the top and freedom the other crabs pull them back into the basket.
Having lived in the Philly area for nine years, I know what he meant.
I heard the metaphor explained several times while I lived there. Once, it was while staring at a bushel basket of blue crabs (the first time I’d ever seen such a thing) at the home of a friend who was African-American.
Dang! This is something I never thought I’d see.
Excellent thoughts there Mr. Barkley. You just jumped 25-50 points in my citizenometer.
Wouldn’t it be something if the Black community expanded on this and the ones who don’t seem to consider themselves to be part of the fabric of our nation, started acting differently?
Hey, it’s a start. Now if Charles can just keep his head.

Sometimes I feel Blacks might have been better off before the 1960s. Jim Crow was evil but blacks built communities, worked hard, had their own culture, music and movies. They may not have had the vote but they have lost a great deal with “freedom”.
Democrat White men keep the Black men down by promoting the notion among unintelligent, brainwashed African-Americans that they must vote for Democrats in order to overcome white supremacy.
Blacks who succeed are an enigma to this notion. They Democrats label them, "Uncle Toms". Examples are Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Bill Cosby, Thomas Sowell, and Dr. Ben Carson. The Democrats point is that they only became successful by bowing to the White men.
There are men among the blacks who earn their living by keeping this notion alive. Examples are Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.
Booker T. Washington, who rose from slavery to become the nations first widely recognized black leader, once warned against what he called "problem profiteers" among our nations black community. "There is a class of colored people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs and the hardships of the Negro race before the public," observed Washington. "Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs."
The Democratic Party practices the 4 Ds in handling the black voters. Keep the blacks Dumb, Depressed, Dependent, and Democrat.
Used to work with a lot of black nurses. Would often notice how much they put each other down ..... They used to put me down also... It was always cloaked in humor ...and very subtle , but it’s how they operate -— It just made you uncomfortable to be around them as you never felt you could please them, or that you were accepted ..... If you live with this constantly, it can warp you as a human being .....
