Kenneth Byrd, 67, found himself in a scary situation when three men invaded his home and kept him and his wife, Judy, 65, hostage at gunpoint. When the three men attempted to force themselves on his 19-year-old granddaughter, Kenneth snapped and somehow managed to retrieve his own gun and defend his family.
The three home invaders then forced Kenneth and his wife, Judy, towards the back of the home at gunpoint while demanding the couple open a private safe and give them their money, reports The Inquistr.
However, it was when the three men attempted to gang rape Kenneths teenage granddaughter that he decided to fight back. Although its not known where the the gun came from, Kenneth retrieved his own personal gun and used it to shoot all 3 of the intruders.
Unfortunately, they fired back leaving Kenneth shot several times. He was airlifted to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Unfortunately, the 20-year-old was found lifeless in the front seat apparently dying from gunshot wounds.
Thankfully, the other 2 intruders who survived being shot were reported to police when they checked into a hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds.

Sounds like the guy did a great job defending his family. I would love to see the left tell us what SHOULD have happened since they don’t think he should have defended the family.
Excellent point! Thank you.
JOHN ADAMS wrote: “By saying that the grandfather killed the guy for attempting to rape his granddaughter, the headline erroneously suggest that the shooting was a punishment. It wasnt it was in the defense of the shooters granddaughter, WHILE the rapist was attempting to rape the granddaughter, and in order to make him stop. The former would be illegal, and no-one on this board would ever condone that. Using deadly force to stop a rape in progress is legal, and were all in favor of that.”
Wow! That is an unusual skill.

This article has a couple of errors and ommissions.
The Cadilac belonged to the grandpa and his wife. I more trustworthy source reported that the grandpa some how got one of the thugs guns and it was this gun that was used to defend himself, wife and granddaughter.
It goes against the anti-gun mantra that a gun is more dangerous to you than the criminal!
I get plenty of range time and I pray I could do as well under the circumstances.
The man is a hero. That word is so over used now days but this man is a real one.
Hope the grandfather comes thru it okay. Glad that he killed one; the other two will get theirs, eventually. Anytime the defective gene pool can be cleaned-out, is a good thing.
It’s not genes—that’s atheistic material determinism. Their genes didn’t make them do it.
It’s culture and individual choice to commit sin, in this case theft (armed robbery, invasion) and rape.
Dead "alleged" thug.
"I think it is unfortunate that the other to thugs did not join the dead one in the afterlife HELL".
Well put! If we applied that liberal thinking to drunk driving, we should go after the car and forget about the drunk driver.
