A total of 116 people are being monitored for Ebola symptoms in Ohio following the visit from a Dallas nurse who treated the first patient to die of the virus in the United States and later tested positive herself, health officials said Saturday.
None of those being monitored is sick, officials stressed.
Dr. Chris Braden, who is leading a CDC team in Ohio, said time is on their side as they wait for Ebola's 21-day incubation period to pass. He said he was impressed with northeast Ohio's level of preparedness but the threat that someone else infected with Ebola might show up in Ohio remains real.
"As long as this disease is burning hot in Africa, those sparks can fly," he said....

Several who are being monitored were at the same (wedding) dress shop as Vinson and her bridesmaids.
Great.
Hope they don’t decide to jump on a plane, any time soon =/
Who is monitoring the hundreds of visitors from Sierra Leone, Liberia etc arriving via Europe? These same visitors come in contact with many more Americans.
The nurse who flew on public airline flight only had a mild fever. Only reason they tested her for Ebola because she was in contact with the now world famous Ebola patient in Dallas.
Initial Ebola symptoms are similar some symptoms of common maladies such as Influenza, Malaria, parasite invasion such as Amoeba, etc. So it is logical to assume, majority of Ebola patients in the USA will go undetected. People do die from Flu so an Ebola death could easily be written off as Flu death.
She walked through 2 airports, and probably sat in chairs and rode in 2 shuttles, or people movers.
Nothing to do about that but wait.
Anybody here on FR got an over/under yet on how many cases of Ebola here will paralyze our health system? Twenty? Ten?
26
Beside planes, we have ships. Any trains yet? Buses?
Why should anyone wait for Obama to get his act together?
52.
That is why there are 52 cards in every deck. Not counting the joker Obola of course.
Airborne on 0bama's planes...
I just don’t understand how this nurse could put her bridesmaids, her friends, her family, and complete strangers in harms way. I don’t know if it was flat out stupidity or she didn’t think she had enough interaction with Duncan to be at risk
Sparks can't fly across the Atlantic Ocean. They can only come here on aircraft.
Pretty high "duh" factor on that one.
I am really surprised that there are only two case after Duncan.
It mean, concentrated form of virus needed to infect others.
It is not contagious as flu , small pox, chicken pox or measles etc.
“there is little risk. It’s very hard to get. it’s rare” blah blah blah..
She fell for the Obama/CDC spin.
When they are out there saying things like that it’s no wonder these people move around.
Because she is a selfish fool only thinking of herself.
She was probably treated like a rock star “ebola nurse.”
Maybe they can get a group discount on a cruise!
It's a great time to visit various Caribbean islands and central America
