Public Health: A disease that was once rare in the U.S. is killing Americans, and its rise coincides with the tidal wave of unaccompanied minor children arriving from Latin America under our de facto open-border policy.
Eli Waller, a 4-year-old New Jersey boy, died Sept. 25. He was reportedly fine and healthy when he went to bed but died overnight, with the cause confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control to be enterovirus D-68 (EV-D68), one more casualty in an epidemic that has swept the country seemingly out of nowhere.
The CDC website reports that from mid-August to Oct. 10, the CDC itself or state authorities confirmed that 691 people in 46 states and the District of Columbia had come down with some sort of respiratory illness caused by EV-D68. Five children, including Eli, died from their infections.
More than a few observers have noticed that the sudden increase in EV-D68 cases coincides with the rapid rise of unaccompanied minors crossing our porous border. These children, often without proper health screenings, have been distributed throughout the U.S.
The CDC denies any connection, noting that cases of EV-D68 have occurred in the U.S. for decades, having first been detected in California in 1962.
"There is no evidence that unaccompanied children brought EV-D68 into the United States, we are not aware of any of these children testing positive for the virus," the CDC told World Net Daily in an email response to an inquiry into the possible connection.

There were approximately 100 documented cases of EV D-68 since its discovery in 1962 until this year, an average of fewer than two cases per year.
This year we have 350 times that, occurring with the wave of illegal immigrant children, usually in states the most illegals were imported.
Correlation is not causation, but that would sure indicate a possible link to me.

Absolutely...It's way too much for any thinking person to believe the influx of the illegals had nothing to do with the current massive increase in cases.
You had better data, and a tighter calculation. Even calculations as broad as mine still indicate there is an anomaly which coincides with the ‘surge’ of illegals, but yours really points it out. Nice job.
That doesn't really mean much. They haven't confirmed that it was the D68 strain, and enteroviruses are very common. It's the particular strain that is rare.
Again, that means virtually nothing. That doesn't say that EV-D68 was found in 3 percent of the samples, it just says that Enteroviruses (any kind of enterovirus) were found in 3 percent of the samples (which were taken from people who had flu-like symptoms). That is not surprising, since enteroviruses are very common - for instance, they are among the more common caues of the common cold. So, finding enteroviruses in people who present with flu-like illnesses is pretty much expected. Anywhere.
Time to throw all the lib slogans back in their face.

They are waiting. CDC has a backlog of 1000 samples to determine if it is the EV-D68.
It’s for sure where many of them belong and it’d be a thrill to witness it happening.
Exactly RIGHT! If it will save one child from DEATH or Injury from an Illegal Immigrant, driving DUI or murder (Jamiel Shaw) or from a TERRORIST that crosses the border, the border NEEDS TO BE SECURE. That is the job of the Fed. Govt. and they WILL NOT do their Fiduciary duty.
I’ve thought from the git go that this had to do with illegals coming here and being placed in the school system.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.
