Update on the Texas nurse on the Carnival Magic cruise per Carnival social media updates.
First, the nurse is showing no signs of Ebola. Good News. Second, though, Mexico refused the ship docking privileges in Cozumel, so the ship is returning to its home port of Galveston. Carnival is giving on-board credit to the passengers and a discount on a future cruise for their inconvenience, even though it is not Carnival's fault. So Carnival is doing its best to make things good for the passengers.
What is the value of cruises for 3200 people?
A couple of million dollars, even at $1000/person.
Schools are closing in Ohio and Texas thanks to the Ms. Vinson.
People are self quarantined or being mandatorily quarantined. Who pays their lost wages?
And this is only been a crisis for less than three weeks.
This is just the beginning of the fun.
But have no fear, the great Obola has appointed a political hack lawyer to manage the crisis.
Debarkation is always crazy anyway so chances are they will probably whisk her away even before the VIP cruisers. The next questions will be.....did they drive to Galveston from Dallas or fly. Even if they did drive people usually have to take a shuttle to their car. It will be interesting to see how all that plays out. I need to find the link again off of the strand where you can watch the ships come in.
Carnival Magic - Bridge (Forward) Camera
What is Carnival Magic's current location / position & recent track?
Bar cam would be entertaining.
Say no to Noro
Say yes to Ebola?
[ The company should give them a total refund. Itll be cheaper than the law suits. ]
NO NO NO...
Full refund
PLUS
Take over several NICE hotels and put everyone up there for 28 days with free door only room service and medical care personelle to deal with Ebola if they start showing symptoms...
Plus pay the lost wages for the peope quaratined..
lol, Mid ship Lido would be where all the fun would be.
[ 0.01% x DEAD still equals DEAD.
Is that a risk you want to take? Dont you want to do everything you can to make 0.01%.... as close to 0% as you can make it? ]
Norovirus (cruise ship illness) MAY Kill you if you are already very sick, but very low chance
Ebola will very likely KILL YOU
The passengers will be able to take another “ebola cruise” at half price.
Being towed behind like a dinghy for all we know, that one appears to be down the memory hole.
Carnival is the lamest of the lame in the cruise ship industry. They're booze cruises priced for the younger party animal set. Ships are all beat up and the food is like Golden Corral buffet. They're also the line that has had all the at-sea passenger poisonings. Destinations are all the 'get stabbed with a Caribbean hobo knife' port calls because they're the cheapest.
Not at all surprised to learn that some dingbat Ebola nurse ended up on a Carnival cruise. She probably planned to spend the whole trip drunk and laid. I'd rather join the Indian Navy for a week than go on an all expense paid 7-day Carnival cruise.
Anyone interested in cruising is 1000x better off with Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. Expect to pay a little more.
I can’t believe the bad luck Carnival has.
Have you ever used Holland America? I’ve heard good things about them. We just returned from a week in the West Indies on Disney Magic. Us, two grandchildren, daughter and son-in-law...Had a great time on the “re-imagined” Disney Magic. (Their word not mine).
hope so its a long swim

Holland America Buenas Aires to Valparaiso last November. Great time, great cruse. Few children. Very professional captain, crew staff.
The real issue is when is the ship’s next scheduled sailing?
Some how I don’t it is going to enough time to disinfect the ship.
I wonder how many passengers are going to show up?
oh, you baaad!
Well there's a silver lining. If millions of American bodies start piling up in the streets, the Mexicans might go home?
Vinson is the nurse who flew on Frontier, not the one on the cruise ship.
ironic. ebola would actually improve cozumel.
That is a bit harsh. What did Cozumel ever do to you?
