Right.

And the Commerce Clause power is specifically granted to Congress, not the courts.

Their field rations were in cans, just like our old C-rations.

I’ll never eat it again but I must say, if there were any way to make butter better, it would taste like Foie Gras

MrT5 would have killed for MREs like that-he hated the ones you get when deployed.

“This California law, is fully protected by the 10th Amendment imo. And if California voters don’t like the law but just sit on their hands and don’t work with state lawmakers to do something about it, then Californians deserve the big state government that they have helped to foster with their apathy.”

If Cali voters decided to vote for reversing this, some PETA whacko would just get the court to overturn it.

Out here, you can get goats’ milk cheese, yogurt, soap etc privately-also fresh butter-all you need is a product to trade/barter, like homegrown veggies, herbs, honey from your own hive, etc...

One day we’ll get rid of those draconian rules-most of the people I know-and myself-don’t trust processed bovine products not to be full of drugs and hormones...

If you didn’t experience that transition period from C-rats to MREs, then you missed some truly horrible MREs.

The first MREs were terrible.

MrT5 retired from the military and took a civilian job in the early 90’s-he was there for the first MREs-are they supposed to be better now?

My 1st husband kept some C-rats from his military time for awhile-we took them when we went camping-the cub liked them, but we parents would shoot and grill a rattlesnake for camp meat before we’d eat those things. I feel the same about MREs...

I don’t know of any commercial producers, either-but I think that may end when more people realize what is really in their “store bought and pasturized” dairy products-that is what happened to build the case for grass fed, free range meat-now all the small markets and butcher shops have it-I don’t buy anything else...

MREs improved greatly.

Just as I would take home C-rations to supplement my diet when I was in the Army, (my wife didn’t like them though), I buy MREs when I run into them at garage sales and they are cheap enough, they are plenty good enough to feed to the males in most households.

"The U.S. Constitution does not mention foie gras and thus California has the right to ban foie gras."

I agree.

"One day we’ll get rid of those draconian rules ..."

The draconian rules will disappear when parents start making sure that their children are taught how important it is to vote.

On the other hand, droconian rules are the perfect compliment for voter apathy imo.

I’ve seen the MRE’s at garage sales out here, too. Maybe it is because I’m female, or maybe because I’ve always eaten fresh food, but I’d still rather kill and grill a rattlesnake-I grill nicely spiced and marinated snake-it is pretty tasty.
