New York state lawmakers and advocates of medical marijuana gathered in New York City on Sunday to discuss the implementation of a new state law authorizing medical marijuana.
The event drew potential patients, policymakers and hundreds of people interested in working in the new medical marijuana industry. State lawmakers voted this year to make New York the 23rd state to authorize pot for patients with conditions including AIDS, cancer and epilepsy....

Actually not...
The law will not permit users to smoke the drug. It could be administered through a vaporizer or in an oil base. Marijuana could be prescribed for 10 diseases.
This is one of the strictest medical marijuana laws I've heard about. Sounds like it's targeted to people with severe illnesses.
And will be loosened within 18 months. Didn’t Colorado’s law start out as medical only?
Amazing that most people don’t realize the state’s objective for legalization is to make the masses ripe for the picking. When everyone is high all the time and addicted to porn, they’ll hardly care when their new Communist overlords take away what’s left of our freedoms.
Colorado voters passed their medical marijuana law in 2000. They voted to legalize it for recreation in 2012.
I expect it will be legal for medical purposes in most states soon, and for recreational use most places within 10 years.
Free for kids in 10 probably, along with sex toys directly from schools.
Nice straw man. Did you build it by yourself, or did somebody help you?
leftists are easy to predict
People aren’t smoking dope and shooting up now?
Yeah right. Prohibition has done so much to defend the Bill of Rights... < /s>
I can’t think of nothing worse than New Yawkers on drugs 24/7. This should be fun.
Such a correct statement used to be widely accepted among conservatives. The libertarian corruption of the right-wing Internet makes even this statement controversial, which really says lots about the state of our society.

Too bad we have the welfare state so you the taxpayer will be funding some druggie’s marijuana high.
Yes, it’s so much better funding their booze and cigarettes.
So legalize another drug while keeping the welfare state intact is so awesome, right?!
Its simple really...I’m not a welfare recipient, so leave me alone.
Other people do use their Welfare to get marijuana so nope can’t ignore that.
“People arent smoking dope and shooting up now?”
I didn’t say that. I’m not looking at this from a WOD perspective, but a longer term strategy by the NWO crowd to soften up the American population to the point they will not resist when the Commies come knocking at the door.
Legalization and growing acceptance of MJ will necessarily result in more people smoking, more often. My argument is not whether by itself is a good thing or bad thing, just that it is part of the plan.
They use welfare for cigarettes, booze and fatty foods too. So should those be illegal too?
