Money. Investing. Freerepublic. Here are the top 10 reasons that us FR investors want to participate in the current FReepathon:
10. Gold, silver, stock indexes, and bond values are all cr@pping out these days anyway...
9. The FReerepublic is a proven and solid force for (among other things) sound national fiscal policy; we need that force stronger now more than ever.
8 We benefit from these threads personally. Equity as a legal doctrine thus requires our compensatory donations.
7. Economic realism: there's no free lunch.
6. Market realism: you get what you pay for.
5. Donations are necessary for continued maintenance/loss reduction of desired FR services.
4. Donations are a guaranteed adjunct to an individual investor's game plan. These threads will either pay for themselves through info leading to profits or reduced setbacks (in which case a monthly donation is reasonable overhead) or if by chance what you pick up here is dumb then having donated enables you to request a cheerful refund. [Note: "request" ≠ "receive"]
3. Hey, this place is fun!
2. This thread's been going on a year now. Those of us that found this thread useful for money making will be able to consider donations when they itemize in Schedule B next April.
--and here's my favorite:
This is the thread where folks swap ideas on savings and investment --here's a list of popular investing links that freepers have posted here and tomorrow morning we'll go on with our-- Open invitation continues always for idea-input for the thread, this being a joint effort works well. Keywords: financial, WallStreet, stockmarket, economy. |

depending on the sectors you’re in,, some will likely drag the rest down near term, but the overall core of our economy is about to get a lot stronger after we kick Obola and the Dems to the curb... if we can survive the onslaught of infectious diseases, beheadings, meaningless riots, and Climate Change.
And assuming that the ones who we put into office have the stones to do their jobs...
Hope Faith and Reality are all tempered by time.
If ya live long enough, they’ll align. One can only Hope.
Well, we’ve survived World Wars, Civil Wars, Depressions, Jimmy Carter, and pandemics. We will survive Obama, too.
Um, gulp!

Rally this afternoon. Watching 3 to buy, just watching many more. Hit bottoms and missed them. Lots of daily highs have just been hit; now it’s settling down for awhile.
Capitulation?
Russell 2000 in the green.
NASDAQ now green.
R2K was the big worry a while back but this past week it’s been steady and it’s now at a 7 day high.
It’s a cinch that interest rates won’t be going up any more for a while.

anyone know how to configure scotrades new platform? —am having a horrible time w/ it.
Day trade? I once bought a stock at 14 or so and sold about 6 hours later for about 58. Good luck. I hope y'all did well.
I had 3 trades ready to go but I ended up not buying any because I missed the bottoms or close to them. You done good w/your dtrading. I don't risk much when I day trade and haven't traded for about a year now. I had over a 100K margin they gave me when I was day trading but I see that they have dropped it down to about 60K, probably because I haven't traded for so long. I don't buy on margin anyway.

Scottrade doesn't have that one. I was going to short it if they did lol. I don't think they have LLC's on any exchange, maybe OTC?

World economy gives investors growth scare as they look to U.S. The global economy faces its biggest test of confidence since the European sovereign debt crisis as investors fear it's running out of engines. Japan and the euro area are throwing up fresh signs of weakness by the day and emerging markets such as China are dragging instead of driving growth.
