Someone posted this cryptic statement -- "Bsr et bn n8" -- on a memorial website to my late beloved girlfriend.
I put it through Google translate, which recognized it as French, and translated one of the "words" as "prayer."
I'm wondering if this is a standard statement of mourning in French, or some other language.
Has anyone seen this before? Any idea what it means?
Ha! I can swear in 5 languages. I’m multi-cultural.
I took drafting and even used it my first few years at work. By 1987 everything was CAD and we never looked back.
I still have to do the electronic drawings for all my plans. What a colossal waste of time for an engineer to have to all his own drafting. We are kind of messed up that way. Way too many engineers and way to few people doing the electronic drafting.

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, adieu
Adieu, adieu
To yeu and yeu and yeu.
Bonsoir et bonne nuit.
Who leaves a pony country to come to a non pony country?
Non. Il est “bon nuit.” Nuit est le mot masculin.
Thank you VT, I was feeling lonely...:)
I’m very sorry for your loss. May the Lord ease your suffering and give you peace.
I agree. Unless the poster was certain that the message would be understood, it was very poorly done. Classless in any event.

Nuit is feminine. Bonne nuit. A ts is “to all”
Haven’t been around anyone under 30 in a while! Have you.
I knew it was texting, but I am not a bilingual texter, and my kids are not either.
You gotta get out more.
Just lovely.
There’s your mystery solved Maceman.
“wound my heart with a monotonous languor”
l33t for ‘bon soir et bon nuit’ - ‘good evening and good night’ in French.
Does my 16-year-old daughter count?
But you're right. I should get out more.
Makes sense. "Eight" is "huit" in French.
‘It changes weekly. Cmon, get with the program! We dont want to shoot you for using last weeks counter sign...’
Lol.
In that case, the heavy flag flaps not at night.
16 year old daughter? You have my sympathies. My youngest is finally out her teens. 13 is worse, but 16 is still tough. God bless Ya.
It’s only a blessing if we can gather meaning from it.
Maceman, I’m very sorry for your loss.
