obvious. Idiocracy is here
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cant fool all the people all the time, so you prostitute authority to the point you can never be removed.
He’s the president [49 + vote fraud]% of us deserve. The rest are just along for the ride.
With apologies to James Gordan, the guy is not the president we needed; he’s the president we deserved.
BHO is what one would expect when you trade in a limited government constitutional republic for an unlimited government mass democracy.
Mencken was right and we are Rome in it’s latter stages.
Well, yes. Obama was elected twice. He’s a reflection of what America has increasingly become... a lawless, morally depraved, socialist, third-worldish banana republic, with a bottomless sense of entitlement, coupled with no sense of responsibility.
In one sense, this is a tautology, because he was elected, QED.
But I don’t believe the American people are wanting to commit suicide by and large. Oh, they may be stupid and think that eggheads are possessed with the answers to everything and questioning them is anathema. 0bama came along at a time when the country was feeling lousy from Iraq and the banking crisis and offered the brilliant solution of cutting off our arm so we could get even with someone.
The only comfort is that things got so completely and depressingly crappy under Carter, we found a Reagan. While I acknowledge there is nobody like that on the horizon at the present moment, I am hopeful in sporadic moments that at least the country might be open to such a fountainhead of originalist ideas. And then again, maybe not.
The good news is that elected leaders mean less and less over time. History has shown -- and will show -- that democratic societies often exist in spite of themselves.
When I read articles like this I am reminded by a conversation I had years ago with a wise man who was immersed in the ways of Washington. Take it for whatever it's worth, but I found one statement he made particularly interesting:
"I avoid getting bogged down in most of what passes for political discourse these days. I learned a long time ago that the CEO of Archer Daniels Midland is more powerful than the President of the United States anyway."
Yes, he is. Certainly he’s the president those who voted for him deserve. As for the rest of us, it would be convenient to think of ourselves as innocent victims of the obama trainwreck. But we let it happen.
Our nation’s decline didn’t happen overnight. It’s taken decades to get to the point where a totally incompetent boob can win the White House by blathering platitudes and wearing a suit well. We had myriad opportunities to stop it and we didn’t.
I know what we’re up against: biased, lying media; voter ignorance on a Richter scale; corruption in the electoral process itself; activist courts unaccountable to the people; out-of-touch establishment politicians who can’t — or won’t — read the tea leaves; etc.. All true. And all weapons in the hands of our enemies.
Does that mean we just lay down and die? Accept the dissolution of our country as inevitable? Wring our hands and go back to watching “the game?”
If we do, then yes, odipstick is the president we deserve.
Not fully accurate quote.
Article: “As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.
Actual quote by Mencken: “As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”
There can never be a gain from allowing mental defectives to vote.
the plain folks of the land will reach their hearts desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.
Oh hell yes...problem is, we ALL have to stand neck deep in the same crap pool praying there is not another flush, not just the ones who got us there.
We know an older Woman who is an Obama lover.
When she started going on about the crazy Guy who got in the White House (no, not Obama or Biden), I said it wasn’t a problem because Obama was probably on the Golf Course at the time.
She started yelling into the Phone, “don’t say that!”. Of course her silly response only made me laugh.
Obviously the Truth hurts, but it doesn’t necessarily change minds or opinions.
We permitted two elections in a row to end up within the margin of fraud. We permitted vote fraud to stand in repeated stolen elections even before the 2008 fiasco. We permitted cumulative violations of the Enumerated Powers and the 9th and 10th Amendments to stand. We permitted FedGov to continue growing, even under President Ronald Reagan.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
- Thomas Jefferson
We haven’t watered that tree in generations. That was our choice. Do we deserve the natural outcome of these bad decisions?
