Dr. Rick Sacra, of Holden, who doctors said was successfully treated for Ebola at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, was admitted to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester Saturday morning with a respiratory illness.
Doctors do not think it likely that Sacra, who has been suffering from a persistent cough and low-grade fever for several days, has suffered a relapse of Ebola.

“Doctors say” is usually followed by a bunch of BS.
What do they know?
Ping.
If you recovered or mostly recovered from a viral disease, wouldn’t you be immune? At least unless the virus mutated significantly?
Yeah, we were told we shouldn't be concerned about Ebola coming to America too.
With all the incompetence we've seen so far, I don't think I'd be taking Smith's reassurances to the bank.
The revenge of enterovirus D-68.
Can you imagine surviving Ebola only to succumb to enterovirus?

My BS meter is about to explode.
Found an interesting article about that:
It’s not completely known how long a person can continue to shed the virus once the acute infection has subsided. It’s likely that the recovery from Ebola varies as much as the incubation period of the virus, which can last anywhere between 2 to 21 days. According to the World Health Organization, a lab worker who contracted Ebola on the job was found to have traces of the virus in his semen 61 days after the initial infection. Though it has not been documented, this could theoretically mean a man could infect his partner during sexual intercourse weeks after he seemed to get over the disease.

It can relapse.What the hell.
The cured ebola guy now has a respiratory illness but dont worry! Everyone knows that ebola cannot possibly be spread that way! Its settled science.
My wife almost died from severe acute pancreatitis when her lungs were pressed down by fluids until they put her on an experimental infant ventilator that kept her lungs inflated until the pressure was relieved.
I am just thankful that with all of the upheaval in healthcare the past few years, that I have been able to keep my wonderful healthcare policy and my fantastic Doctor...wait, what?
>traces of the virus in his semen 61 days after the initial infection
Like any strapping young buck is gonna not release a load of Ebola filled spooge into the first lucky ho he comes across for 61 days.
DMFing savages in the bush just hunting for a good time.

Agree. Healthy 51 year olds don’t just check back into the hospital with fever and persistent cough. It certainly is cause for concern.
He could have contracted that illegal alien disease that is infecting hundreds of children(And killing them too) Obama virus is spreading like wildfire..all brought here by illegal alien vermin
I’m just thankful that Hubby and I enjoy excellent health and haven’t needed to see a doctor in years.
A doctor’s office or a hospital are the last places we want to go with all the nasties crawling all over the place. Now with Ebola rearing its ugly head..........
*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin BANG!
Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!
Bring Out Your Dead
Were gonna need
a bigger cart!
Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.
The purpose of the Bring Out Your Dead ping list (formerly the Ebola ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.
So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the Bring Out Your Dead threads will miss the beginning entirely.
*sigh* Such is life, and death...
yeah, and so much for the dopey medical “professionals” on tv proclaiming Ebola is no worry as it is not very contagious since it is not respiratory. Well now if this Dr. still has the virus and combine that with a respiratory illness, seems like he might be a perfect host for the virus to mutte and with severe coughing, how many millions of this virus is he expelling per cough to infect others?
Viruses are freaky things. I have had shingles TWICE due to stress. I’m just shy of 50.
Sorry to hear that ((((Hugs))))
