Honolulu Councilmen Propose Obama Beach Park

Hawaii News Now reported Councilmen Stanley Chang and Ernest Martin introduced a resolution to change the name of Sandy Beach Park.
The beach is a popular bodysurfing spot on Oahu's east side. It was one of Obama's favorite spots growing up. He bodysurfed there while on vacation during his 2008 campaign for president.
If the name is changed, it would be the first time something has been named after Obama in the state of Hawaii.

I'm thinking that renaming
Kalupapa, the leper colony, in honor of his contributions of just the past few months to the health of all Americans, would be more appropriate.

There’s a James Buchanan High School in Mercersberg, Pennsylvania. Buchanan County in Iowa is also named after this failed presidency.
My point is every president gets something named after him, and Obama will get a few such monuments. It would be foolish for conservatives to argue unless it’s something really inappropriate. A beach in Hawaii that he liked to play on seems fitting. They let us have Reagan National Airport. They can have their beach.
