Theres lots of talk about it. Last month, Scotland voted against it. In 2013, some residents in California, Colorado and Maryland signed petitions to do it. And Texas has toyed with the idea off and on for years. What is it?
Secession!
But its a lot more talk than anything else, according to a Fox News national poll that asked voters if they would support their state splitting off from the United States. Just nine percent said they would.
The poll also gave people another option: What if you could boot other states out of the union?
[Snip]
Which state would be the first voted out? California. Of the voters willing to ditch a state or two, 53 percent pick the Golden State.
Next out the door is New York (25 percent), followed by Texas (20 percent) and Florida (11 percent).

> I vote to kick Texas out.
You won’t have to kick them out. They’d gladly leave the hopey changy hellhole version of the U.S. Obama has created.
> On the other hand California did provide the world with Ronald Reagan.
He and guys like John Wayne were old school Hollywood when the world was a saner and safer place...
California is turning itself into a third world country where the vast majority of its population are uneducated peasants and illegal aliens living in abject poverty and a few politically connected elites have the wealth.
The thing is that most of the people in Northern California(Redding & north) would like to be a separate state from Sacramento South.
Similar situation has existed in NY State for 30+ years. Everyone north of Westchester county would like to be a separate state from NYC and Long Island. Same thing in OR, WA, IL, MI even MA. The more rural parts of these states do not resemble(both geographically and politically) the areas in and around the big cities.
Actually, Illinois provided the world with Ronald Reagan.
Actually, Illinois did, but from a political standpoint, you're spot on.
I'm pretty sure Butte, Sutter and Tehama Counties want in on that as well.
Have to agree with you. These four states have led the progressive charge and are, for the most part, economically and morally bankrupt.
Lol, no question many of us would love to be kicked out!
Package deal...kick out the land mass east of Interstate 81 and north of Interstate 64 in Virginia...America would improve overnight.
Why is that?
Darn.
I was rooting for Massachusetts for an upset win...
But that leaves New Jersey IN the U.S., doesn’t it?
Can you please find it in your heart to kick them out, too?
You make a good point. A lot of fine Americans live in the non-NYC parts of New York.
I think we should consider splitting the state and allowing most of the northern & western portions of it to stay in the USA - make a new state called North Pennsylvania, maybe...
;-)
Regarding New Jersey..... Special case.
Local Freepers have lobbied me not include NJ
The west coast also could stand a little purgation but the likely hood of a big earthquake removing either LA or San Francisco might solve the California problem and thus Oregon and Seattle land.
But the bottom line is, with Neoeuropa gone and migration there from say New Jersey and Maryland, the remaining good guys can likely handle the moonbats still among us.
I live there. I would love to be kicked out. Please don't throw in in that briar patch!
I’m not sure what your comment means-—do you want to get kicked out of Texas—or do you want TX to secede from the Union?
Okay. As long as you’re aware of the “New Jersey Situation” and are keeping an close eye on it...
