Again, look at who Broward elects and the type of people that live there, and it is the most culturally and politically left wing county in the state. Between rude condo commies, Afro Caribs, and the gays in WM sprinkled on top, you live in a left wing sh-thole, with a suburban veneer inhabited by a "diverse" population,
Demographics don't lie, electoral returns don't lie, and the type of elected politicians you have in Broward obviously point to left wing idiocy in the People's Republic of Broward.

This is not regulating, insisted Commissioner Dale Holness. This is coordinating a voluntary effort to ensure that gun sales are done in such a way that the people are protected. That's a lie.

Broward has been liberal ever since I’ve been in FL (30+ years). You remember the 2000 election, hanging chads and all. The three counties involved were all lib/dem controlled — Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
You may be thinking about Brevard County. It is much more conservative and farther north.

Those safeguards include asking the stores to run background checks on employees, train personnel to identify telltale signs of straw purchasing, run periodic inventory checks to account for lost or stolen firearms and researching the chain of possession on firearms traded in to see if theyve been used in a crime, among others. As far as it goes, these procedures sound like common sense things that any gun shop should be doing.

He’s right. It’s coercion.

You know how the progressive / leftist government for thee not for me’s incrementalists work. Today voluntary, tomorrow involuntary...
To: SoFloFreeper
We already have “voluntary gun control”.
Nobody is forced to own one.

Does this mean that the new requirement will be that you should hit what you are aiming at? Some liberals just never give up...

Good catch. Interesting. I had not heard of this either. Leave it to the statists running Broward county to try and cook up something like this. They just can't help their little totalitarian selves.
Here is Marion Hammer's reply to this. I think she has it pegged.

How about a “voluntary” program paying real estate taxes in Broward?

They are just getting the sheep ready to be handed over to the muslims for the slaughter, My FRiend. If the events in OK last week do not demonstrate the need for the people to own guns, nothing will.

researching the chain of possession on firearms traded in to see if theyve been used in a crime, among others.Something not a single public gun buy-back program ever does. They just want the product off the street, even if the program itself encourages the act by allowing the perpetrator to get the state in on disposing of evidence!

I just sent this article to my very pro-gun state representative. Should be interesting. I made a comment about how Broward is playing cutsie with state law. In my experience, state legislators dislike having local yokels mess around like this... Just sayin'
