Statement from Oklahoma County Sheriff John Whetsel:
Today my thoughts and prayers are with family and friends of the innocent victim who was murdered and the second innocent victim who was injured in violent knife attacks at Vaughan Foods in Moore, Oklahoma on September 25, 2014.
These were heinous criminal acts that were ended by the quick response of Oklahoma County Reserve Deputy Sheriff Mark Vaughan. I am extremely proud of the actions of Deputy Vaughan and I am convinced those actions saved the lives of several other employees. Mr. Vaughan, who serves as CEO of Vaughan Foods, was at work and when he was alerted that a man was attacking employees with a knife, Mark didnt hesitate. He quickly responded.
Mark put an end to the threat by shooting the suspect and saving the life of a second victim who was being actively attacked by the suspect. There is every reason to believe that the lives of untold others were saved who would have been targeted by the suspect if it hadnt been for Deputy Vaughans actions.
Mark Vaughan is an example of just how significant these men and women are to our citizens. Yesterday lives were saved and a criminal threat ended by the quick and unselfish response of Mark Vaughan.
Only one word can express my feelings of the actions of Reserve Deputy Mark Vaughan. Without regard to himself or his safety, yesterday Mark Vaughan became a HERO while doing the job he was sworn to do protecting others.
Reserve Deputy Mark Vaughan shot suspect Alton Nolen at Moore food plant. Nolen is accused of beheading a coworker.

There, fixed it for you.
The federal government will quickly begin reassuring people that Islam is a religion of peace and this has nothing to do with terrorism.
If we want this to stop, we can’t depend on a neutered government. These Islamists are not welcome here and need to be shown the door.
Seriously, when that murderer is put in prison, I hope the guards reach an understanding with some of the more violent inmates that fortune can sometimes smile on those who smite a villain.
Muslim “leaders” in this country need to step up real quick and denounce this with every breath they have. It will not go well for them here otherwise. We’ll be playing cowboys and muslums before they know it.
That pisses me off more than just about anything. Geesh, we aren’t stupid. We know when we are invaded by killer scum.
Media is trying to avoid covering this story.
What ... another work force violence thing? Nothing to see here folks ... move along now.
Deputy Vaughn, another ‘jack booted thug’. /s
These were heinous criminal acts that were ended by the quick response of Oklahoma County Reserve Deputy Sheriff Mark Vaughan.Should have said....
These were heinous criminal ISLAMIC TERRORIST acts that were ended by the quick response of Oklahoma County Reserve Deputy Sheriff Mark Vaughan.
Holder will send in the FBI to question Mark Vaughan about why he shot the monster more than once... was Mark Vaughan a racist? Did he ever use the N word?
How long before the stuck-on-stupid liberals start to wake up?
Unfortunately, he knows how to survive in the prison culture.
“Well be playing cowboys and muslums before they know it.”.
We are already playing and the muslimes started it. Now its up to the “cowboys” to finish it, once a for all. The word needs to get out that the cowboys are pi$$3e and are coming, loaded for bear.
No mention of ‘Islam’ or ‘Muslim’...what a surprise.
Until Americans realize that we are in a war for survival against a bunch of thugs bent on setting up a world wide caliphate and do something to hang onto our own heads...nothing will happen
the government is supposed to protect us but they are in somebodies pocket because this guy converted to islam an they are only religion on the planet that advocates beheading.
