I'm thinking I'm on Ted's side with this one.

Santorum is one of those guys who had a political career and thinks he is still relevant. Cruz is the real thing - a warrior.

If I buy you a pretty sweater vest, will you go away?

I think Ted is exactly the sort of person we need in the White House.

“”We have a responsibility to stand by people who are being persecuted,”

Israelis and Jews *ARE* being persecuted. The lives of Jews are not worth more than those of Christians. Although these people sure didn’t act Chrisian.

Santorum desperately wants to surrogate for Romney, again.

Sen. Cruz was correct.

Saint Rick is at it again. I remember when the scumbag was tearing down Newt at the last minute in Florida, while simultaneously claiming he would never do such a thing. These scumbags have no principle and are just looking out for themselves, not for the movement as a whole. That’s why I’ll never support Santorum or Mittens, who play dirty against fellow conservatives.

I'm not a Santorum backer by any means, but Cruz was rude, confrontational and hijacked the event, which was to highlight the dangers to Christians in the Middle East. Given that Christians are being beheaded and otherwise murdered, it's a big problem.

But he got what he wanted, publicity.

Cruz earned the ire of many conservatives for his speech to a group called "In Defense of Christians."

Bull Shiite! He "earned the ire" of pro-Hamas plants who were in the audience.

There are many, but Rick Santorum is at the head of the “just shut up, and go away” people list on my desk.

I don't agree with what Ted Cruz said, at least as it's reported. But I disagree even more with Santorum's criticism of him. Santorum does seem to have a nasty side.

Best other conservatives back off and let Cruz have time and experience to develop his foreign policy.

Santorum has some things to say. I am frankly a bit confused as to what exactly happened at that event, and think there may have been misunderstanding on both sides.

I do know there are Palestinians who claim to be Christians who are VERY anti-Israel. That is unacceptable.

I also know that there are men and women in Palestine who have been VICTIMS of the fight between the various Arab factions (Hamas, Fatah, etc.) and Israel. That is not good either.

Israel must never be compromised. I think we all can agree on that fact. Santorum is pro-Israel, and so is Cruz.

Santorum was absolutely correct, as he often is.

Cruz has his good points, but he completely in the wrong in this matter. Arab Christians are not Muslims, but Cruz figured this was close as he’d get to being in a room with Muslims. He took the opportunity to pander to his base in some misguided attempt and berated Christians for not being real Christians for not supporting Israel. Israel is a democracy and better than the Muslim nations in the Middle East, but it should not be idolized over Christians. How odd that some Protestant posters deride Catholics for idolizing Mary over Christ (which is false), but they have no problem making an idol out of Israel over Christians.

There have been over 50 years of conflict in the Middle East where Christians are often caught in the crossfire. As a “Christian Nation” we should care about them. In some people’s eyes, Arab Christians aren’t real Christians and that is a shame.

Certainly we should support our ally in the middle East (Israel) but it we should also support the Christians.

As usual on this site, Rick Santorum gets zero respect. I don’t understand the Santorum hate and I never will. Here is a man that stands for Christian values and has the support of working class voters (you know those “Reagan Democrats” people keep talking about) and he gets derided for his trivial things like his sweater vest.

I know this comment may get me banned, but I had to say a few words in defense of a decent man.

Irrelevent Risk - desperate for attention.

The only way he can get in the news now is to attack the leading news-maker in the party.

Sad...

The speaking engagement Rick refered to was being financed reported here in FR’s by GFOO’s* and a setup with PA muzzies in attendance. In fact some attendees apologized and defended Cruz’s position.*(good friends of Obos)
Santorum should have known this before he opened his yap.

Whether Brett LoGiurato of the Business Insider knew this is another question but that publication hasn’t been exactly “objective” when it come to politics. If LoGiurato knew this he could have set Santorum straight and questioned him. Instead Brett kept his mouth shut and created a division which is usefull to their agenda.

No, we're going to be with you if you are a religious minority that's being persecuted by a radical Muslim majority. Period.

That is an irrational dogmatic absolute. What if the minority is unjust or evil, and don't deserve to have us be with them?
