When Pat Roberts faced a conservative primary challenge this summer, he did what most Republican senators have learned to do: turn hard right. Now, facing an unexpectedly strong independent challenge, Roberts is doubling down.
On Thursday, the three-term Kansas senator turned to tea party darling Sarah Palin to rally voters behind his flagging campaign. The former Alaska governor praised Roberts for standing with Sen. Ted Cruz a year ago during his marathon floor speech against President Obama's healthcare law, which preceded a strategy that resulted in a government shutdown.
"He [was] one of the few senators fulfilling campaign promises, doing what the American people asked him to do, standing there on the floor with Sen. Ted Cruz to do what they could to get rid of Obamacare," Palin said.

Your answer may lie in some of her answers - and as I predicted, Obama Care and Harry Reid would be among them.

Agree. Like Sarah said, Roberts stood with Cruz and votes conservatively.
We DON’T need the faux *Independent* who’s likely foisted by the Rats/Soros.

Well, I still wouldn’t vote for a RINO, in keeping with my oft-stated position on this site.
But I would vote for Roberts if I lived in Kansas now, because the GOPe being forced to reach out to Palin is a victory for the Tea Party by itself.
And if Roberts win after all the recent gloom and doom pronouncements about his prospects, it will be clear that Palin’s support (and thus the Tea Party’s support) was critical to his success.
I expect that the result will be at least a somewhat chastened GOPe that will think twice about abandoning or even bashing conservatives in 2016.

It will be great if her appearance led to a bump in the polls that the GOPe could not ignore.

I have enormous respect for Sarah Palin. I trust her judgement in this regard. I normally would not want to help a squishy moderate like Pat Roberts, but now would consider donating to his campaign. I still, under no circumstances would support Mitch McConnell or Thad Cochran. Those two can burn in eternal hell.

"He [was] one of the few senators fulfilling campaign promises, doing what the American people asked him to do, standing there on the floor with Sen. Ted Cruz to do what they could to get rid of Obamacare," Palin said.
Yes, this is a good justification for what she has done this morning. Still am wondering about this endorsement, the Hatch endorsement, and of course, the Arizona U.S. Senator endorsement(s).
Must be my hearing going bad but I don't understand such (perceived) departures from her regular conservatives-only approach. Still think there's something else in the works.
To: Oldeconomybuyer
So the Establishment now needs Sarah Palin to bring them to victory. Hmmmm.

Just on principle alone you are wrong.
Next, add in the logical fallacy of your position.
