Physicist Michael Pupin: Science Leads to God
by Jerry Bergman, Ph.D. *
Michael Idvorsky Pupin (18581935) was a leading American researcher who made many scientific advances, including development of the fluoroscope and an electrical transmission system for long-distance telephone communication.1 A physics professor at Columbia University for 40 years, Pupins many discoveries resulted in devices widely used today.
Pupins oscillating circuit research made it possible to have simultaneous transmissions of several messages through one wire, and it was his inductance coil research that made long-distance telephone calls possible.2 Both inventions made him quite wealthyover one million dollars for his inductance coil alone, equal to about 30 million dollars today.3 His research also laid the foundation for modern radio broadcasting. Dr. Pupin even contributed to substantial advances in X-ray technology and was also one of the leading popularizers of science in America.3

Even one of those famous atheists acknowledged there was something deeper to the order of the universe, how one could then still be an atheist, I’m not sure.
The easiest way to deal with an atheist is to ask them if they have a ‘soul’.
And “why be good”?
When one admits that, “there was something deeper to the order of the universe”, he is no atheist.
He does not understand that that “something deeper” is more important than all the physical phenomena he observes and that It challenges him to meet It.
One could argue that there's a certain logic to being an agnostic...one who is *truly* uncertain regarding God's existence. But OTOH there's strong,*strong* evidence of the existence of a Supreme Being while there's no evidence to completely rule out that Being's existence.
When one admits that, “there was something deeper to the order of the universe”, he is no atheist.
He does not understand that that “something deeper” is more important than all the physical phenomena be observes and that It challenges him to search for It.
There have been, during my lifetime, many things that I've been tempted to do which were both illegal *and* immoral. Many times I was convinced that I could avoid trouble with the police after having done that thing but I refrained simply because I fear God's judgment.I can't speak for anyone else but I,as imperfect as I've always been, would have been far,*far* more imperfect were it not for that fear alone.
I’ve heard the argument that being dishonest
“would violate my personal ethics”.
Well, then, where did those come from and why do you think they’re “right”?
"Well you're taking this chemical process business too far."
“too far”
I welcome and laugh at phrases like that, because “too” implies a standard, and where is that standard defined and by whom?
Is it objective or subjective? Why is it right?
They’re like Wile E Coyote standing in midair off the cliff holding up a sign “help!”.
Materialists CANNOT tell you where all matter came from, only espouse conjecture and guesses.
The scientific method itself was developed by devoutly religious men to facilitate their search for divine truths.
I’ve always felt like that
The more I see how life and the universe work the more it feels created
Of course we all know that he wasn’t a real scientist because he didn’t believe in evolution. Besides, we all know that if he were alive today, he’d believe what all the other real scientists believe that Global Warming is real and the science is settled. Just saying.
“For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Romans 1:20
Without Excuse!
Even a “leading American researcher who made many scientific advances” can become delusional, just like anyone else.
