The Khorasan Group, which the U.S. military struck overnight in Syria, was actively plotting against a U.S. homeland target and Western targets, a senior U.S. official said Tuesday. The threat was "imminent," the source said.
The U.S. military also struck ISIS targets in Syria.
The United States "had very good information" about the threat from the Khorasan Group, the source said. The U.S. strikes against the group were planned in advance, not at the last minute, the official said.
Khorasan operatives were coming closer to the "end of their planning," the official said. The United States hoped for an element of surprise by mixing strikes against the Khorasan Group with strikes against ISIS targets.

Among the targets of U.S. strikes across Syria in the early hours of Tuesday morning was a collection of buildings to the west of Aleppo, some distance from strongholds of the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq (ISIS).
U.S. Central Command said in a statement that eight strikes were conducted against targets of the Khorasan Group, including "training camps, an explosives and munitions production facility, a communication building and command and control facilities."

I just heard about this group Khorasan a few days ago. Supposedly they are the greatest threat to us. Just another name for Al Qaeda? Hope this wasn’t just a pin prick.
Since we keep going back to the middle east to kill these types of folks, we should establish a permanent residence or state somewhere in the region. Just make sure it’s a region that contains oil fields so we can get some money to fund it.
It’ll draw attacks but we can pick them off as they come. That’ll save some intel money trying to identify the bad guys too.

Yeah as the article states it is interesting to note that they were given safe harbor in Syria even though they are at odds with JAN and ISIS.

I don’t recall ever hearing about it, but I am not focused on this s much as many here. Seems kind of bizarre Obama is doing this, given he has not spoken about them.
I say we just take over ISIS’ territory. We can call it USIS -United States in Iraq and Syria.
All the Moslems would immediately go on welfare that you'd have to fund.
