sure Andreas

Keep doing business with Iran, shipping them weapons command and control systems, industrial components, and even cranes to hang their homosexuals while engaging in diplo-chat about sanctions

and let your business conglomerates keep managing payoffs to the terrorist cabals running Libya in return for managing their oilfields - look whose companies and banks own them, thanks to obama

and ditto in northern Iraq- keep renting the cooperation of ISIS and buying their captured oil because, well, it's good for business and European governments take the businessman's practical approach when it comes to business. Fully expect French military cooperation in Syria will end once their business interests are secured

as for “IS” being the fault of “the West”, well, there is blame enough to share my friend

The last time I studied history all those pesky “national” boundaries in the middle east that have become “red lines” for WW4 were artificially devised in the parlors of European diplomats to try to checkmate and contain uncooperative desert tribal barbarians and protect remaining European colonial interests

You fellow infidels just keep going about your happy uninvolved “not my business” European lives, letting wimps like Obama use US troops do occasional forays into the Levant and SWA to look tough, letting muslim radicals immigrate to your countries unchecked and giving them luxurious welfare as “refugees” from the political chaos your nations helped to create.

With any luck it will only cost you a couple of high vis terrorist attacks on your civilians and infrastructure as your societies and cultures slowly cook to death in that pot of hot water called “multiculturalism”

the fact that Egypt is not involved speaks volumes about what they think, or know, about obama’s end game

I'm curious how an amateur photographer from Syria was able to know where these explosions were going to happen in order to film them. Spotter?

It's been obvious from the beginning that Obama’s real goal is to eventually overthrow Assad even though it's an extremely unpopular idea with the general public here at home. It was already rejected by the people back when Obama and McCain did everything they could to lie and manipulate us into supporting the overthrow of Assad. We should be more concerned with our tyrannical dictator here at home who's a much bigger threat to us than the Islamic State, or anyone else for that matter.

A lot of Americans can see what's going on after years of being lied to, and manipulated into supporting things that many regret now. I think more people see how the government uses propaganda to achieve goals that have nothing to do with what they tell the public more than they have in decades. The problem is we can't stop it regardless of whether we see it or not. Our government is so corrupt and broken that we are never going to win fighting within in it, and too many are afraid to take any risk involved in using acts of civil disobedience and open defiance.

Bob Beckle's prediction???

Am not Bob Beckle so my prediction, as was his, is probably worthless. 10/10 until January 3rd ... my best guess.

1. As far as I know the US troops left Iraq more or less completely (there are some to secure your embassy in Bagdad). Therefore I doubt that Iraq is full auf fire control radar or missle lauch sites to fight Iranian WMDs. There are rather plenty Iranian troops (Shiites) in Iraq in the meantime to fight against ISIS (Sunnis). Obummer gave up Iraq to Iran a long time ago. A surrender without need and a betrayal to roundabout 5000 GIs, who lost their life for the US in this godforsaken country. In my eyes the biggest American bust since the Vietnam war.

2. A silly question: What could be the strategical interest of Iran to drop missles on European cities? Since the UK and France are nuclear powers, such warfare could be quite unhealty for them. Furthermore everything they have comes from Germany. Germany is still their most important partner for technology, spare parts and products they can not buy in China. Iranian missles over Europe therefore are quite implausible.

No. The IS is not the fault of the “West”. The IS is the fault of the US and its inconsequent policy. I remember discussions I had in this forum when G.W.Bush invaded in 2003. Others freepers told me that the US would stay and that a new wonderful democracy is going to be established. My answer was always that democratic nations should stay away from agressive wars (preemptive strikes) since they do not have the patience to push things through with military power. It happend in Vietnam, it happens now in Iraq. Bush and his war on Terror was expensive and unattractive for most Americans. This is the reason why they voted for Obama. He promised a retreat and surrendered the country to Iran and the IS as fast as he could. I hate it to say but it was America that left this mess. A combination of false parameters and hopes (Bush) and chicken hearted politicians (Obama) directed us all into a big problem.

Andreas

It was not only a war for oil. There was the will to connect good and useful things. War for oil is not a ethical problem if it is a war for freedom too. Anyway it was wrong, since the Iraqis never wanted freedom or democracy. Simply wrong hopes in the west.

I am just poking at Obama and the Dems. The Iraq war was in no sense a war for oil. No oil was ever promised or taken, but that didn’t stop the Dems from making the charge.

Ah, the logical European mind. Why would Muslim jihadists attack your cities? It would be bad for business. You sell them stuff their mullahs need to pacify the people

Ergo ISIS - the personification of Muslim rage and insanity - is the fault of the US and let the US try to contain it ... For which Europeans will continue to castigate the US for being warmongering cowboys and sanctimoniously propose “peaceful” solutions like sanctions which of course do not apply to European business

“Hopalong” is getting mighty tired of both being blamed for creating the bad guys and criticized for trying to stop them

“You will not see any European planes flying... - our reservation has nothing to do with “surrender” or other BS. It has to do with experience. Things in the ME are not that simple as one could think at first sight. All this bombing that was done from Israel and the West in the Iraq war, Gaza or the West Bank breeded a new generation of angy arabian males that only live for killing jews or americans.”

You are kidding yourself to think that Islamist ideology is not global. They want to destroy Rome - they say so. They want to re-conquer al Andalus (Spain), it is a religious imperative. The Muslim Brotherhood is now headquartered in London, and the leaders of the 9-11 attacks came from a mosque in Hamburg. They want all people to submit to the will of Allah - in their view the whole world is divided between the Dar al Islam (area of submission) and the Dar al Harb (area of struggle).

The Arab oil wealth has released their extremist missionaries to dominate madrassas, mosques and Imams throughout the Muslim world with their violent supremicist vision. This is independent of anything done by America or Israel - “it is only a matter of time until one of those young arab males will take intelligent action against you.”

It is a cliche among among Americans in the military that Europeans tend to pose as morally superior in an intellectually tortured attempt to justify what is essentially a cowardly and dependent position of leaving someone else to do the fighting. That is what your post strikes me as - wishful thinking to avoid facing the reality of the caliphate growing right now in Eurabia.
