The U.S. Army is opening the door for women to go to Ranger school.
It's one of the first steps in the broader effort to allow women to begin moving into more grueling combat jobs.

Yes.
I concur. I represented a highly regulated company in WDC. My first assignment was to fly to WDC and attend a FERC meeting. It cost my company $1500 to fly me there, another $200 (it was 20 years ago) for the hotel and I don't remember the food bill. You know what we did there? We spent 4 hours determining when we could meet again. It was unbelievable watching the highly paid lawyers in their $1000 suits wasting precious time and their clients' money negotiating their calendars! Walking down the streets you could feel the immense government buildings (the bureaucracies) vacuuming the money out of your pockets. And yes, I am moving from very angry to very sad.
As long as the very high Ranger standards are met, I am OK with allowing women to compete. If standards are lowered, well then, those who pass the new lowered standards, by definition ARE NOT true Rangers.
Does the fourth Rangerette from the left have something running down her leg, or is that just a run in her stocking?
STUPID PC move. In a real war these imbecile women will get good Rangers killed covering their unqualified a$$es
If women can now become Army Rangers, will the Army Rangers now become women?
Female Rangers isn't about females at all.. It's about DESTROYING MORALE and discouraging enlistments by straight white Christian males into the military.
Sorry folks, its either one way or the other.
Imagine no men going to OCS, or Ranger school, or Airborne or _______ (fill in the blank)
They want women so much .... let 'em HAVE 'em.
Basic Training is now a quick run through the Girl Scout Handbook.
They need the woman who threw a long table at some melee and caught a metal folding chair with one hand (the gif gets posted here occasionally). She could probably handle herself in the Rangers.
> They wont flunk out. Alternative standards will be instituted or standards will be lowered across the board. You have to understand how these people think. They dont take no for an answer.
In their mind, gender is a social construct which, with a little social engineering, can be overcome and male and female will be equal.
I guess reality will have to hit them squarely in the face when finally figure out their squads are not accomplishing missions because the have to stop for potty breaks too often or are ambushed when putting their makeup on in the morning...
Except, that is not what will happen. They will come up with testing that will be easier for women to pass. The physical fitness testing will be watered down. This isn't about women doing the same job as men; this is about women getting the same position as a man; but, with different and less demanding qualifications.
> I have watched Ranger training on The History Channel.
I doubt there is a single woman in the world who could pass.
Hell, few men could pass...
American Shield Maidens? Where the hell are all the able bodied men we use to have? Are we trying to keep them out now? Has it become our kinder and gentler rangers? Female seals are next.
I was a very fine athlete in high school and college. I could run the 100 faster than the Women’s world record. I could not pass Ranger training. I would not even try.
In which they’ll flunk out and cry to mama.
I guess the first clue about standards being the same would be if all the females had to show up in the same buzz cut the men have to.
The day my 10 year old nephew knocked me to the ground (a loving gesture, apparently) told me everything I ever needed to know about gender/social construct.
