LOGGERHEAD KEY, Fla. Twenty-nine Cuban migrants have been rescued after reaching land in the Florida Keys. ....
Under the "wet-foot, dry-foot" policy, most Cuban migrants who reach U.S. shores are allowed to stay.

Is Castration still the form of government down in Cuba?
Does anyone know the name of that POS with the rifle?
29 refugees from a Commie banana republic vs millions of illegals coming from Mexico and Central America not to mention the 200,000 Syrians and Somali’s the govt is getting ready to bring in and dump all over the USA. I wouldn’t worry too much about Cuba.
Big difference between Mexico and Cuba. Cuba is a gulag. I have no problem welcoming those folks in who escape it (so long as they don’t bring the gulag ideology with them).
I agree, los Cubanos coming to Amerika now aren’t near the same level of those who came in the 50’s & 60’s.
These new ones want Obamaphones too.
Which is why todays JBT's wear ski masks over goggles. They don't want their neighbors and friends knowing the crimes they commit against American people while they were sworn to uphold the constitution.
I’m amazed they reached dry land.
Normally, the Coast Guard are really on top of intercepting these boats before they reach land.
We know the name Larry Potts, of Ruby Ridge, Waco & Oklahoma City infamy.
Lon Horiuchi, the FBI sniper who killed Vicki Weaver. Horiuchi was charged with manslaughter for the death of Vicki Weaver at Ruby Ridge; the case was dismissed.
We know Janet Reno's name.
Billy & Hillary Clinton's.
Knew Ted Kennedy's.
The list goes on.
That’s touchy one cause I disagreed with them trying to keep the child here against his parent’s wish. We have no right to do that.
Chill. They were ordered to go get the child, it's not his fault.
I’m not worried about 29 Cubans escaping the Castros.
Not when you have millions of people pouring across the Mexican border, Al Qaeda included.
Y’all are missing the point...
the point is we are being force-fed illegal immigrants, who will not only take the jobs and bring illnesses and diseases, but for whom we will have to fork over more of our money to support them, like the millions who have crossed our southern border.
These 29 are not the only Cubans who have landed on our shores and given amnesty because of our lame policies. Like the Somali’s and millions of other sneaking across our southern and northern borders who have disappeared from our sights.
When will it to stop? It’s like our voices are being drowned out by the above mentioned peoples.
see post 14
Should I have said 29 MORE?
p.s.
you all are making excuses for the Cubans because you say they are escaping tyranny, whatever, which is the same excuse the millions of illegals coming across the borders are using. How do you think it’s any different? If you’re going to make excuses for one peoples, you open the door for others.
Cuba is a special case, you know that, and we have policy specifically aimed at them and I have no problem with this.
That said, I don’t favor illegals and wish to drastically curtail legal immigration until we’ve assimilated the people we have.
...and Eric Holder.
“the point is we are being force-fed illegal immigrants”
Back when President Reagan was in the White House, the Cuban Adjustment Act’s provision that Cuban nationals who reach the U.S. are entitled to asylum was interpreted the way that it was written, so any Cuban who reached U.S. territory—including U.S. territorial waters, which, as you may recall, President Reagan extended to 12 nautical miles—was entitled to asylum. It was the traitorous President Clinton who, in order to please Fidel Castro, began the policy of taking back to Communist Cuba persons who reached U.S. territory but who were captured by the Coast Guard before they could step on dry land, despite the law’s clear language. Why Clinton decided to turn the U.S. government into an arm of the Castro Regime, or why President Bush 43 did not return to the interpretation given to the law during the Reagan and Bush 41 presidencies, is beyond me.
“you say they are escaping tyranny, whatever, which is the same excuse the millions of illegals coming across the borders are using”
U.S. law does not recognize that a Honduran or Guatemalan or Mexican is “escaping tyranny,”so your slippery-slope argument is inapposite. Don’t confuse the Obama Administration’s violation of U.S. immigration laws and unconstitutional dereliction of duty in the case of illegal aliens crossing our border with Mexico with upholding a federal law that recognizes that people escaping from Cuba are a special case.
