...But it is a risk I am willing to take!
What? No air strikes!
Smart!
What is Clown Prince nobama’s “strategy” here? Will the troops be able to shoot the virus? Maybe he’s putting them there so as to bring evermore virus back to the US?
Since we have yet to have imported Ebola, we will send 3,000 Americans into close contact with the victims so as to ensure that we infect the mainland.
Insane.....
Michelle likes to travel. Send her there.
Bet they’re going to be the guinea pigs for ebola vaccines.
I’m sure we are all sympathetic, but this is crazy. I’m guessing these soldiers would rather go to Syria and fight ISIS.
Let’s use the money and fast track the serum that worked so well on the 2 Americans who have been all but cured. That is a real solution, but, of course, it is stuck in the bureaucratic abyss known as the FDA. Congress should also exempt the manufacturer from legal liability to get the stuff on the streets. (Fat chance; Trial lawyers own the Democrats.)
Second, sorry, but no flights in from these areas until the illness is under control.
Sending in 3,000 of our fighting troops is insanity.
21st Century Spanish Flu. Which in 1918 and 19 was transmitted by troops returning home from
WWI
There I fixed it.
Senate hearing right now on Ebola on C-SPAN
Just saying that some might see something in that. If Obama refuses to impose a 45 day isolation period on anyone coming back from exposure zones, he's spreading it on purpose.
IIRC the flu virus killed more soldiers in WWI than bullets and bombs.
A virus is an enemy with no allies.
Dropping US Soldiers into this environment is forcing them to go on a suicide mission with no chance of accomplishing anything.
These soldiers should refuse to go. This is not a military operation. It is a deadly social experiment.
Unless the 3000 are doctors, nurses, med techs they have no business being exposed to the virus.
Just how does one ‘fight’ a virus with military personnel?.....................
Fix bayonets, charge, inhale deeply.
There used to be a saying about Ebola, to the effect that it killed so fast, it didn’t pose a danger of spreading. Those who caught the virus were pretty much left for dead, and on their own.
During this outbreak, the mortality rate is less than 75% - an improvement in that dept. But at what cost? Well, doctors and troops and who know what else keep coming into regular contact with these patients to treat them, with some success, but they just keep spreading the virus to themselves and others...and possibly making the situation worse.
Sometimes a good old fashioned quarantine is best.
There, that solves the red state problem.
