But can a U.S. air war alone effectively degrade and, in the final analysis, defeat the terrorists in Iraq and Syria?

No. And we keep having to re-learn that lesson every time a new guy takes the wheel.

This isn’t terrorism. It’s war.

I have a feeling Obama’s days as president are numbered. Nobody is buying his line about ISIS not being Islamic, which puts him in the position of being either a liar, a fool, or a religious zealot on a scale so grand that it puts the entire military & civilian populations at risk in numerous countries, including our own.

I’m hoping he resigns soon or the public demands his ouster. He is clearly lost and wandering at this point.

as long as it looks like the obozo is trying to do something about the ISIS carnage and threat, that's all he needs and the MSM will do the rest

These terrorists are dug in among civilian populations which raises serious collateral damage problems for U.S. air strikes in which large numbers of innocent civilians could be killed and wounded.

I really do not see the problem.

It's called a JDAM.

Use it.

Obama's Politically-Driven, Hastily Taped-Together, Counterterrorism Strategy

Reminds me of this book I read when I was little:

The Sultan’s strategy is to do no more damage to his allies than he feels politically required to do.
