ROCHESTER, Mich. (WJBK) - Lieutenant colonel Sherwood Baker was just a father trying to help his daughter find her way at her new high school.
Sherwood who has served in the Army for 24 years was told by Rochester Adams high school security that if he wanted to get into the high school with his daughter he was going to have to go home and change his clothes.
Baker's wife Rachel Ferhadson says, "before he was allowed in, the security guard stopped him and said sorry you're not allowed in the school. Security told him men and women in uniform weren't allowed because it may offend another student."

I have commented to my wife on this to my wife many times. The difference in respect I have between seeing a Indiana State Trooper walking up to a car with his hat on and clean pressed blue on blue uniform compared to our local city police with their black BDU pants and shirts with no hat.
I sure as hell respect one over the other, and I bet a lot of other people do too.
This is one of my "this is what liberalism is to me" items. Sadly it is full of this woman's admissions of her own failures -- as a person and failures of perception -- written by her own hand; yet she cannot see...
Exactly like that. Should have taught all of these sons of bitches this lesson YEARS AGO. They wanna disrespect VETERANS? WHO GAVE THEM WHAT THEY HAVE? SHED BLOOD?
Abortion is the cassus belli. Anyone not willing to stand up and fight the evil around us is just as evil. I’m willing, but not going to lead.
Anyone that disrespects a veteran or does some BS like this should get two options.
1.) choice of execution.
2.) join the army and get sent to whatever shit hole our troops are in and engaged for at least 2 years.
They’d have a whole new respect for that uniform.
All liberals are dirt to me. Waiting for the day they get theirs, or someone stands up to them en masse. We own this country, they’ve got the cities..that’s IT.
I do not recall feminism in the 60 or early 70’s. Free love then was much safer then today. We did not have open wide gays and lesbians, nor did we have same sex couples. Blame your own generation for the likes of Obama and the hard core feminism.
I think you must be mistaken. I was born in 1963. So you see no cause in and effect in your fee love movement? Damn must be nice to live in the state of denial. What did you teach us?
MAJOR ARTH PING! no pun intended.
I hope Madonna is proud of her school. She graduated from Rochester Adams HS in ‘76.
The Good Book has warned man about these times for centuries ol' sport. I just never could have dreamed 40 or 50 years ago that they would occur in my lifetime. It is heartbreaking to watch.
I thank God for His Mercy and Saving Grace!
A kid born in 1963 would not have any adult type memory/ies at age 6-7, so; I think you might want to move to the 70’s as the real period of any change as your earliest date from any personal experience. I recall in late 1969 no damn problems when I was in uniform, plus I was sent back to college in May 70-72 by Chief Infantry Branch. I saw hippies hitch hiking along I-80 and I gave one Creighton student a ride from Denver back to Omaha. All I cared about was could he open beer cans. In short, we did not worry about getting mugged, robbed, nor did we have gang problems in the 60’s. We had idiots like John Kerry and his VVAW plus Jane Fonda, but; the race problems of the 1968 timeframe in Newark and Detroit were not Black Power nor the serious problems like I first saw in 73-74 in Korea. Hell, it took the BDE S-3 SGM an SF type to put down LTC Colin Powell’s race riots. Powell was given the best BN command in the entire division and he could not handle his fellow blacks taking over day rooms. That was your Black Power timeframe. In 1972 Gloria Steinham’s bio came out. You suffer from few facts and the wrong time frame. A person who purports to know the 60’s and was under 7 years of age in 1969 is delusional. You were not in high school until the late 70’s, so; please don’t try to blow anymore smoke up-—.
The security guard should have been taken out.
I thought barnie fief died
You have completely misunderstood the entire point. So I will drop it. Have a good day.
Thankfully here in small town schools in Alabama we have good, faithful teachers. In the big cities like Birmingham, Montgomery, Huntsville and Mobile, the DimoCommies and teachers unions screw the system into the ground and the kids are becoming good little dummies and future homos. But our County seems to be decent from what I’ve heard. The local city school system here in my town is okay also. I know a guy who just got elected to the board and he is good people. So I suspect it is a good board.
