NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A federal judge has upheld Louisiana's ban on same-sex marriages, as well as the state's refusal to recognize gay marriages legally performed in other states.

U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman's ruling Wednesday ...said gay marriage supporters failed to prove that the ban violates equal protection or due process provisions of the Constitution.

Feldman agreed ...that states have the right to define marriage.

I’m not an LSU fan but I am a Louisiana fan until the day they too give in to that “same-sex” marriage nonsense.

Praise God. This is nice to read. Although, it’s not a ban...

Of course the states should have the power to define marriage. There is no such thing as a federal marriage license.

Reagan also nominate O’Connor and Kennedy, neither was a reliable conservative vote.

The Fifth Circuit already has the Texas decision on appeal. If it decides that case for gay marriage, this new decision will be nullified. One Circuit will have to decide against gay marriage to force the Supremes to take cert. (They could still take cert on the cases already decided, they just don’t have to do it.)

The rule of law is not completely dead yet. We may not have much time, but we do have at least a little time.

And not everyone is permitted to be married: no incest, no polygamy, no bestial marriages, etc. So, there is good reason for folks to be denied marriage. 1. disease and body abuse, 2. marriage is safety net for women and children (see poverty level of unwed mothers), 3. it makes the community more dangerous...heightened risk of child abuse, 4. no reason for government financial benefits to those who have warm feelings for each other, there is for those with kids, and there are others.

Read it again....the judge, a Reagan appointee, said homosexual marriage was NOT ok.

about time.

They have the same rights as us, exactly the same rights when it comes to marriage.

Thank you Judge for actually saying how the constitution works .

Second state to do it, after Tennessee. I hope he’s prepared for the Supreme jerkoffs to nullify his correct Constitutionalism.

If this was about marriage then why do homosexuals move to the south and then demand to be married and then do their lawsuits?

They have exactly the same rights as us in marriage.
We cannot marry the same sex, nor can they, however we can marry the opposite sex as they can.

The judge was spot on, about equal protections
