Responding to a disturbance call in an apartment at 3208 Marine Drive, deputies said they were met at the door by a man covered in blood.
Inside, under a pile of bloody blankets, they found the man's roommate, stabbed more than 25 times, according to Broward Sheriff's detectives.

That was my first thought too. But after the reading the article I think it more likely the victim thought he could rehabilitate an ex con.
