The White House is pushing back on a report in the Sunday Times earlier this week that said Obama "took too long" to authorize the mission to rescue James Foley and other American hostages held by ISIS militants, a decision that journalist Toby Harnden reported made the mission impossible.
The report, which offers a broad overview of the failed July 4 mission to rescue Foley, had two paragraphs which were very interesting:
Pentagon sources said Foley and the others might well have been rescued but Obama, concerned about the ramifications of US troops being killed or captured in Syria, took too long to authorise the mission.
Anthony Shaffer, a former lieutenant-colonel in US military intelligence who worked on covert operations, said: Im told it was almost a 30-day delay from when they said they wanted to go to when he finally gave the green light. They were ready to go in June to grab the guy [Foley] and they werent permitted.
For what it's worth, Harnden, who has been a journalist for 20 years, uses the word sources so while they are anonymous we know there are at least two and his follow-up statement from Anthony Shaffer lends some credibility, as it comes from an ex-Army officer with the Defense Intelligence Agency

Thereby confirming that the limp-wristed pansy hesitated.
“Never believe anything in politics until it is officially denied.”
Bismark
Heck this story is over a week old. They even hesitated on this denial.
Oh boy .... as the saying goes, that’s “sick” .... sick good poster and just plain sick because it’s the reality on the ground with President Tee Time.
...and yet, we know the regime is a cabal of liars.
How many times did he “uhhhhhhhh” the Bin Laden takedown?
The only reason we got bin laden was because Leon Panetta got him to agree to words to the effect that “If they had such and such conditions” would they be able to do it..
AFTER he put a hold on the mission 3 different times...
And when such conditions became true they just went ahead and did it and told Obama as they were pulling him off the golf course.
It was only in a book./s And nothing gets past Jarrett or comes from anyone else but Jarrett.
“At the urging of Valerie Jarrett, President Barack Obama canceled the operation to kill Osama bin Laden on three separate occasions before finally approving the May 2, 2011 Navy SEAL mission, according to an explosive new book scheduled for release August 21. The Daily Caller has seen a portion of the chapter in which the stunning revelation appears.
WH denies they denied anything they denied.
Well, James Foley wasn’t at the location, so how long would it take to get a message to the terrorists that he had to be moved and not get caught sending the message.
When will they get Marine Sargent Andrew Tahmooressi out of Mexico?
I think it is time for a hostage exchange: Obola, who believes he is a hostage of the tea party, for Tahmooressi who is being held by a local terrorist state.
My sources tell me that the mission never happened at all. The “hesitation” is the Pentagon firing back for the made up story.
“We came, We saw, He died.”
Hesitating is waiting a few seconds to do something. What he does is more like postponing, putting off for a few days, weeks or months. Obama does this so the mission, whether it is to kill Osama or save Foley, cannot succeed.
