Thank you AB, for doing this thread every week and so dependably.

In this, the most horrible summer of my life, this thread has helped keep me focused.

Meanwhile it’s Labor Day weekend and perhaps politics go slow.

Next week marks the kick off of the midterm elections, the continuation of the Michael Brown saga, the ongoing problem of the community of thugs and serial killers known as ISIS/ISIL.

It’s an important talk show Sunday so we shall see.

Good morning AB and all!

AB, thank you for your dedication in doing this thread every week. Just popping in here and there today. My goal is to reorganize and clean out my garage today and, if needed, tomorrow. I’m not in the mood to do it, but it needs to be done. I’d much rather stay here and chat with my SMTS FReeper FRiends.

Was reading a thread earlier about a speech Sen Cruz made Friday.

In case you haven’t seen them, there are a few threads on this (just search Cruz and titles) - here’s 1 quote I rather liked from a thread SeekAndFind posted:

“Tonight I am officially extending an invitation for Barack Obama to come join me at the border in Texas,” Cruz said. “I figured the only way there is a chance in heaven that he might come: I am inviting him to a golf course.”

Cruz told the audience that he is inviting Obama to join him at Lajitas Golf Resort in Big Bend, where, on “the 11th hole, the pin is on the other side of the Rio Grande, so you can only go for a hole in one.”

Thanks for keeping this weekly thread going, AB. It is important to keep an eye on the enemy and as most of us don’t watch these weekly propaganda programs, it is our sole source of intel on them.

ISIS is at the border.

No it isn't.

Yes it is.

No it isn't.

Yes it is.

One General says attacks are imminent and he pinpoints locations in his new book that is supposed to be released in September.

Intel agencies have no knowledge of imminent attacks.

This is reminiscent of the x-intel-expert who in the last decade was hawking his book on 10 suitcase nukes being in the country.

Continuing the ‘who to believe’ theme of my previous post ...

Rasmussen released polls earlier this week which shows the Dems have closed the gap and even pulled ahead by a point or two in several tight Senate races.

A week or so previous similar polls had Republicans ahead in those tight races by numbers greater than the margin-of-error.

Are the Republicans losing those races or are the polling organizations trying to tilt the elections toward the Democrats?

Also, in Arkansas, Asa Hutchinson (R) had a comfortable margin over Mike Ross (D). Ross supposedly has now moved ahead in that race for governor.

I realize it’s not one of the “standard” Sunday Morning Talk Shows, but none of the standard shows are on here between 7 and 8. In case none/some of you haven’t heard or watched it, from what I’ve heard of it in the background here and there, Maria has a decent fairly new show (IIRC it started about 2 months ago). It’s not all finance/business related - she’s had some fairly good guests discussing politics and current events. Just because I’m saying this, it will probably be a stinker today.

Since it’s on at 7a.m. Pacific, may be on at 10 Eastern time?? Thought you guys might enjoy the show as IMHO she is pretty (and seems intelligent, too :-)

Rarely watch the Sunday shows anymore, have been a joke for years. I did turn in just to see what a laugh Chuck Todd will be on MTP, will be the same left slant it has been for years and years, but I see he has not taken over yet.

I watched the entire FNS panel, what a waste of time, Chris Wallace is such a wiener, you have the NYTimes guy, the AP girl to go along with the ABC token Conservative George Will going back probably 25 years + .

Then I have to watch Marl Mellman hardly a serious person, and he works with the Republican pollster that has earned his living with the Liberal MSM for years and years, probably as Republican as one of the MSNBC Republican contributors.

Yes I am negative sorry, it`s just suich filth on all these channels, there is no hope

Obama turns ‘prepper,’ warns of coming ‘crisis’ ‘Families should assemble a disaster supplies kit’
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3198974/posts

President Obama on Friday turned prepper, with a proclamation regarding National Preparedness Month that warned emergencies, “from hurricanes and wildfires to cyber and terrorist attacks, can strike anywhere at any time.”

In his proclamation, he said each household should have its own plan.

“Before emergencies occur, we must make sure we are ready to respond, and it is every American’s responsibility to be prepared. There are simple but important steps we can all take to ensure we know what to do and have what we need in the event of a crisis. National Preparedness Month is an opportunity to talk with our families, friends, and colleagues about the risks in our communities and to practice our responses in all the places we regularly visit.”

He said Americans “should be familiar with local threats and hazards and take steps to reduce their devastating impacts.”

“Families should assemble a disaster supplies kit well in advance and have a plan to reconnect after a tragedy,” the president said.
