Tea party voters could dump Mitch McConnell just by staying home

he dilemma facing the true grass-roots tea party believers -- the dilemma they do not acknowledge -- is that their primary goal of whittling and whacking away at big government undercuts their secondary goal of saving the middle class from the greedy grip of big corporations..

If Democrats have a unifying philosophy, it is that government needs to be effective enough to curtail the economic and environmental abuses of unfettered capitalism. Republicans, on the other hand, preach the dogma that smaller government and unrestricted corporate power serves the best interests of the common man and woman.

The tea party folks have largely bought into that belief, but still are uncomfortable with Republicans who appear to be too much in thrall to big business. That is partly why a big tea party effort was mounted against Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky’s Republican primary. McConnell was rightly seen as the epitome of the GOP establishment that the tea partiers so disdain. Yet, even with major support from national tea party organizations, such as FreedomWorks and the Senate Conservatives Fund, challenger Matt Bevin could not depose the incumbent senator.

Now McConnell faces a robust challenge from Kentucky’s Democratic secretary of state, Alison Lundergan Grimes, who, at age 35, has been alive exactly as long as McConnell has been in the U.S. Senate. Polls show Grimes is in striking distance of beating the old veteran.

Personally its SC Grahamnesty who really irks me, I think him losing to a Dem would still be better than another term with his continued deceitfulness.

McConnells pretty lame but is Grahamnesty who I really want gone.

And this is exactly what they should do. On second thought, they SHOULD vote, and they should vote for the Democrat.

It is far more important to teach this man (and the rest of the establishment as well) a lesson for having declared war on us (and paying for those racist ads used in Mississippi) than it is to have just one more RINO incumbent at war with us in the Senate.

In this particular race, the Tea Party needs to project some power, and the only way to do this is to vote for the Democrat.

Yes, the Democrat is an enemy, but McConnell is a traitor, and traitors have a higher priority than enemies.

McConnell declared war on us and funneled money into those racist attack ads against the Tea Party in Mississippi.

McConnell MUST go. We can't afford to tolerate such behavior.

Q. What do you call a Moderate in Kentucky?

A. A Democrat

And Mitch is the only one too stupid to get the punchline.

Really? Which part of Harry Reid's agenda did Mitch McConnell oppose? Which Obama nominees did Mitch McConnell refuse to vote for?

If we don't get rid of these backstabbing traitors, it won't be any different from having Reid as Senate Majority leader. It might in fact be worse, because then OUR name will be attached to the disaster.

Yeah, I'm reading this with my mouth hanging open. The LATimes and they didn't disparage the tea party? Actually stated understanding about the facts associated with the tea party. What is this world coming to?

The GOPe treats TeaParty supporters as domocrats treat blacks. But the TeaPartyists won’t just sit back and blindly support the establishment as blacks do for the dems. That’s why the GOPe despises them so much.

Mitch opposed Reid's destruction of the filibuster rules and has promised to restore the power of the minority to democrats if Republicans are to regain the Senate majority.

Conservatives should refuse to vote for the GOPe who solicited Democrat votes to defeat Conservative Republicans.

We don’t need a second Democrat Party called “GOP”.

Vote “Bullwinkle!”

We need to make them understand that *WE* will run this show, or *WE* will burn you down. You mess with us, and we will cut off your head.

*THAT* is how you get respect in politics. The NRA has demonstrated this countless times over the last 50 years.

HUGE mistake. I despise McConnell, but Conservatives need to back him as if he is Ronald Reagan. If they do not, the abominable Alison Grimes will win, and continue to win for perhaps the next 36 years.

Well that's just wonderful. Reid screws over our side, and McConnell promises not to give them a taste of their own medicine once the roles get reversed? Yeah, we really need leadership like this.

the GOP does not dispise the tea party.Anyone who would rather dump McConnell and Lindsay and keep Harry Reid are NOT tea party supporters. They are trouble makers who want the democrats to win.

“HUGE mistake. I despise McConnell, but Conservatives need to back him as if he is Ronald Reagan. If they do not, the abominable Alison Grimes will win, and continue to win for perhaps the next 36 years.”

This same thinking is what gave us Jim Jeffords, Arlen Specter, and Lincoln Chafee. McConnell is just as much a traitor as these three.

If I lived in Kentucky, I wouldn’t vote for the democrat, but I WOULD NOT give a vote to McConnell.
