I was in an auto accident day before yesterday and taken to the hospital by ambulance for a scan of my neck to make sure nothing was broken in neck. I can't move my head to the left now due to neck pain but neck isn't broken, thank goodness. When a nurse came into the room to take info. about me, she asked this question, “Have you been out of the country in the past two weeks?” I laughed and said, “NO.” She then laughed, too.
I think the ambulance crew should have asked me that question to find out immediately if I had been in an infected area.

I had to go to an ER this weekend due to an accident at home. First question asked: have I been to Africa recently.....
It is now protocol to ask everyone coming into the ER about their recent travels...

Oh no. So sorry you were hurt, but glad that it was not as bad as it could have been. Were you alone or was someone else with you?
I agree, the ambulance crew should have asked that question, but I am not sure that its being taken that seriously yet. The question at the hospital at least is showing some consideration, and that’s progress I quess.
