Longtime NBC announcer Don Pardo, best known as the often-heard, rarely-seen constant during 38 seasons of constant change at "Saturday Night Live," died late Monday. He was 96.

John Facenda and Don Pardo, two voices that everyone knew but rarely saw the face that housed the voice. There are going to be some great voice-overs in Heaven. And let us not forget the inimitable Don La Fontaine, the Pavarotti of voice-overs, IMO.
