For verily I say unto you,
That whosever shall say unto this mountain,
Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea;
and shall not doubt in his heart,
but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass;
he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mark 11:23

Holy Lord,
One of the many indications of Your love for us is Your desire to empower us. You have given us tremendous power and authority through the Holy Spirit to speak to our mountains and to exercise our dominion over all that You have given us as well as all that rises up against us. Father, such knowledge and understanding is so valuable to us, and yet many of Your people choose to walk in ignorance, denying the provisions You have made for those who belong to You. Lord, we want to use every bit of the authority and power You have given us. May none of Your precious gifts go unnoticed or unused. Help us, Lord, to study the Word and to know all the good and perfect gifts you have provided for us.
Father, our military men and women are serving in trying times. Our desire for them is that they trust in You, Lord, with all their hearts, and that they lean not unto their own understanding. In all their ways, may they acknowledge You, and You will direct their paths. Lord, may You give Your angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways. And may Your peace be with their family members who wait for their safe return to.
Holy God, in this day of lukewarm churches and political correctness that permeates even the interpretation of the scriptures, may we choose to stand upon Your truth with courage and strength. Our help and our hope are in You, Lord, and we know that You do not fail. Your truth endures unto all generations. We bless You, Lord, and exalt the Name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Is Somebody Singing?
August 17, 2014
Read: John 17:20-26
From 200 miles above Earth, Chris Hadfield, Canadian astronaut and commander of the International Space Station, joined in song with a group of students in a studio on Earth. Together they performed Is Somebody Singing, co-written by Hadfield and Ed Robertson.
One phrase of the song caught my attention: You cant make out borders from up here. Although we humans draw many lines to separate ourselves from one anothernational, ethnic, ideologicalthe song reminded me that God doesnt see such distinctions. The important thing to God is that we love Him and each other (Mark 12:30-31).
Like a loving father, God wants His family united. We cannot accomplish what God has for us to do if we refuse to be reconciled with one another. In His most impassioned prayer, on the night before He was crucified, Jesus pleaded with God to unite His followers: That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us (John 17:21).
Singing illustrates unity as we agree on the lyrics, chords, and rhythms. Singing can also promote unity as it binds us together in peace, proclaims Gods power through praise, and demonstrates Gods glory to the world.
O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemers praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace. Wesley
Singing Gods praises will never go out of style.
Jesus prayer for the unity of believers (17:20-26) is one of the beautiful theological passages of the gospel of John. It discusses both the relationship between God the Father and Jesus as well as the duration of that relationship. Jesus roots His desire for the church to be one in His own relationship with God the Father. Their relationship is characterized by mutual knowledge, love, and glory. Not only does this prayer call for unity in the church, but it shows the unique relationship between Jesus and the Father that existed before the foundation of the world (v.25).

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do Thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -
by the Divine Power of God -
cast into hell, satan and all the evil spirits,
who roam throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

PRAYERS ASCENDING ON HIGH FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND FOR OUR BELOVED NATION!
GEN. GEORGE WASHINGTON THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE
"Let Tyrants Shake Their Iron Rod" William Billings Mixed District Choir, Fairfax, Virginia (Click)
IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.
AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.

HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. We pray that You gather them in Your Loving Embrace, that You cause Your Countenance to shine upon them, and that You vouchsafe their souls to dwell eternally in Your Divine Presence. Through Jesus Christ Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
