Ebola patients flee armed attack on Liberian isolation ward

Armed men attacked an Ebola isolation ward in the Liberian capital Monrovia overnight, prompting 29 patients to flee the facility, witnesses said Sunday.

'They broke down the doors and looted the place. The patients all fled,' said Rebecca Wesseh, who witnessed the attack and whose report was confirmed by residents and the head of Health Workers Association of Liberian, George Williams.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian man was today at the centre of an Ebola health scare on the Spanish Costas, which contains an estimated British population of more than 82,000.

It seems like something was lost in the original translation. Subsequent info seems to indicate the hospital raiders weren’t ordinary hoodlums/jihadis/scumbags but rather local folks who were PO’d that their hospital was being used as a collection point for ebolists from all over the general area. The local folks were trying to run off the ebola patients-—who didn’t want to go. And you figger they didn’t go far, at least by themselves, what with upchucking, having the runs, and all? The alleged stealing of laundry also seems to be a conscious effort to swamp out the place. We need to send a couple press guys from Ferguson over there to get us the straight story.

Boy, this is getting complex. If a sand rat gets the creeping crud as punishment by allah for being a toilet-less slime bag can he redeem himself before he dies? Does he have to spit on or fire on, an infidel to make sure he gets his virgin goats? And what if the runs are keeping him from getting a steady aim. FWIW, the majority of the population of Liberia are "Christians". Muslims make up a small minority in that country, less that 15% of the total population and most of them are not found in the major population centers like Monrovia. And I put “Christians” in quotes because while they are “Christians” they also still hold to many ancient tribal rituals and long held superstitions. They are also very poorly educated and not very trusting of their government, and not always without cause as it is very corrupt.

These have to be the stupidest people on earth. I can’t even comprehend this level of ignorance and superstition.

People traveling in Africa and Caribbean countries have to be careful taking photos, or else the natives will attack them for "trying to steal their souls." That should put the typical level of African enlightenment into perspective.
