German secret agents intercepted one of Hillary Clinton's phone calls while she was US secretary of state and also listened in to a call by John Kerry, her successor, it emerged this weekend, in an embarrassing reversal of the spying scandal that blew up when it was revealed last year that America bugged Angela Merkel's mobile phone.
Mrs Clinton was on a US government plane when German intelligence services overheard her call and, against their own internal protocol, stored it, intelligence sources told German media. The intercepted phone call took place in 2012 between Mrs Clinton and Kofi Annan, the former United Nations secretary general, who had just returned from negotiations in Syria and wanted to brief her, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported on Saturday.
Der Spiegel also claimed that agents from the state intelligence services listened in on a phone call by John Kerry, the current US secretary of state - and that Germany has been spying on its NATO ally Turkey since 2009.

That must be cruel and inhumane punishment to have to listen to the most boring people.
I’m extremely curious if this occurred after or before Merkel
knew she was being eavesdropped by the NSA. Either way no one
within the Godforsaken administration has any right to be upset.
Duh, the Germans are full of it when they were complaining that the U.S. was spying on them. Merkel especially, who is herself a “former” communist and a propagandist in a Communist youth group. My opinion is that they acted with outrage due to Russian influence on the “former” Communist agents in Germany, designed to create a split and formally move Germany closer to Russia.
Following in the footsteps of Wilson and FDR, leave it to a ‘rat to start a war with Germany.

If they DIDN’T listen to their enemy’s phone calls and conversations, who would they listen to? Do you think they would believe Washington under this administration?

The Germans were at this for a long time before the NSA ever came into existence. I think eavesdropping by ANY means is part of their DNA....
Even the British were late coming to the party in the early part of WW II.
