OKAY. It's obvious this is another Tom Delay type witch hunt. My question isn't really if there is any validity to this. It's more about if it will actually work this time against Gov. Perry or will it (hopefully) backfire and shine a big bright light on the corruption that is the Dem party today. Your feedback is much appreciated... Oh, and if "they" can be allowed to get away with this, shouldn't the same thing happen to the two most corrupt gov employees we have right now? Obama and Holder. I'm hoping if we all break out our new $5 LED flashlights together we can shine enough light on the corruption that is Washington DC.

Ham sandwiches beware!
Good idea!
After all, “TURN ABOUT IS FAIR PLAY.”
The liberal idiots in austin would vote to indict Mother Theresa if she was a conservative.
Used to be that people had enough shame that they would naturally slink away knowing that they acted horribly. But this chick is incredible with her "Don't You Know Who I Am" attitude.
The Gov did not destroy her career, she supplied the dynamite and the matches.
Perry isn’t running for Governor again, thank goodness.

Liberals, as a general rule, are not personally acquainted with shame as an emotion. To them, it is simply a weapon -- to be aimed at conservatives.
Please elaborate.
A lot.
The governor has decided that he doesn’t want an unethical person running ethics investigations. We pay him to make executive decisions like that. Do you believe that unethical people should run ethics investigations?
I got to hear Tom Delay tell the full story of his witch hunt. They’d been after him for years and used the Ethics Commission to do it. It was the DemoRats that wanted I’m too. Sounds familiar...
“The governor has decided that he doesnt want an unethical person running ethics investigations. We pay him to make executive decisions like that. Do you believe that unethical people should run ethics investigations?”
I was just repeating what the local news said.
And if anybody broke the law...anybody our side, their side, then they should be held accountable.
I think the Travis County DA should have resigned.
I also think if Perry got out of bounds trying to make her resign he should have o stand for it.
A judge did rule that she can legally keep her job.
I believe in the rule of law.
This sounds like something Hillary would do. This gets attention off of her sinking polls and takes out one of
rivals.
Perry should hammer them. Throw the prosecutor and judge in jail. The use of the law in this manner must be stopped by any means necessary. It is an abomination.
One liberal judge is not the final decision. The Texas Supreme Court has a say before this is over.

“One liberal judge is not the final decision. The Texas Supreme Court has a say before this is over.”
I never said it was the final decision.
I said that at this moment she’s legally allowed to keep her job.
I personally think she should have resigned.
I also said I support the rule of law.
If it’s ruled that Perry abused his power then he should be held accountable.
These Austin prosecutors have a history of political prosecutions, and destroying lives. Delay springs to mind.

“I don’t see how a veto is an abuse of power. It wasn’t a threat, it was a promise.”
According to the news report.
Perry was under investigation by the the DAs office.
He had no authority to remove the Travis County DA.
Threatening to veto an already approved budget (and the news report said this was the thrust of the indictment) to coerce an elected public official to resign constitutes an abuse of power.
The report also said that an indictment isn’t a conviction and I already knew that.
My opinion is that if he’s found guilty he should be held accountable.
MHO, the DeLay thing was tough for those who aren’t totally engaged in the political weeds to understand.
This one is very easy to understand for anyone who is willing to devote a couple of minutes to it.
He tried to rid the office of public integrity of one who possesses none.
Rick Perry took money from a drug company (Merck) and has several other ties to the company, including his friend and former chief of staff Mike Toomey leaving Perry to work for Merck.
Perry made an executive order that every girl in the state had to get an Merck brand HPV vaccine (Gardasil) because he said so and new better than the parents of Texas. I could never vote for that kind of sleaze.
Perry has admitted that he made a huge mistake doing this, because what else is he going to say; but he's also proved that he can be bought and paid for and that children are cannon fodder to him.
So... yes, this thing in Austin is sleazy, but Rick Perry using young girls as political payback is pretty much the apex of sleazy. What goes around comes around.

(but then too, there's that arrogance factor)
How do you prosecute? They are taxing us! The poor Travis County taxpayers are paying for this drunk DA.
