NBC will name Chuck Todd the new host of "Meet the Press" as soon as Thursday afternoon, according to people with direct knowledge of the network's plans.
The sources confirmed widespread speculation that David Gregory, who moderated the show for the past six years, will be replaced by Todd, and is expected to leave NBC.
The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to comment on the record. One said that the transition will be swift -- so swift that Gregory will not even host "Meet the Press" this weekend.

That's a very good idea. Even better would be to have a 3-person panel of Atkinson, Sarah Palin and Jim Robinson. Then the truth would be presented, factually, accurately and without the leftist spin.
I would have thought that they couldn’t have done worse than Gregory. I would have been wrong.

I actually think Joe and Mika will eventually get the spot. I think Todd is a temporary “solution” and NBC just wanted to dump Gregory as soon as possible. Especially after he was caught interviewing over at CNN in Atlanta.

Who needs a “moderator” on these shows? The guests come on and state their talking points. Doesn’t matter what question is asked. Just pick 5 politician and let them make their speeches. That’s what happens anyway.

Cringe worthy what’s-his-name Gregory gets unceremoniously dissed by cringe worthy NBC, who denied utterly all of these leaks and rumors, and then left him twisting in the wind as rumors even increased finally decide to open the floor under him.
