Would I be acting white if I asked why in Gods name are black people looting and destroying their own neighborhood in St. Louis? Would I be a sell-out if I asked why stealing all the tennis shoes from a sporting goods store would make a point for justice for a young man who was killed allegedly by a cop?
Would I be an Uncle Tom if I asked why burning a gas station, breaking into at least one convenience store, including a check-cashing store, a boutique, a small grocery store, a sporting goods store, a cellphone retailer, a tire store and a Wal-Mart would make things better? Would I be behaving stupidly when I told you that between 20 to 25 Walmart employees took shelter inside their store Sunday night as rioting and looting ran rampant in the area around them?
Would it be wrong to ask why people carted away goods from several of the stores, even as police moved in? These are stores located ] in this area often at their own peril. These proprietors small business owners often live in the area or darn near close to it. Neighbors stealing from neighbors shamelessly destroying their neighbors property as though they were released from bondage in order to pillage and plunder.
Police were having a difficult time catching the looters because crimes were happening at several locations. And it all started with a peaceful protest.

Yes. And you must atone.
Looting hair extensions for Just-us!
So far the people arrested aren’t from the area and have criminal records.
There are enough well-armed people in most neighborhoods now who have had enough and would prevail in any confrontation. It probably will happen someday, but it ain't gonna be pretty.
That’s what the mayor was saying. The perps weren’t generally from the area.
That's a population decline of 63%.
St. Louis African-American population in 1950: 154,000
St. Louis African-American population today: 156,000.
That's a population increase of 1%.
Those Obama phones are awesome for getting flash mobs mobilized! I saw this phenomenon in Wash DC where maybe 50 youts suddenly appeared just down the street from the Verizon Center and stripped a beverage truck clean in maybe a minute and a half.
A huge squad of cops showed up too, but about 5 mins too late to grab anybody.
“They know damn well that if they cause any problems anywhere else they will be damn well shot. “
It might spread. Riots might no longer stay in the ghetto, but end up spreading to ‘better’ areas. Already gangs are running around places like county fairs and more interesting places. I’m certain that it will reach a point (this riot or another riots) where they will fan out to more affluent areas.
The author’s article will not be read by the population that does this type of rioting. She can write until her fingers bleed, but the folk aint readin’.
Yes, she must atone.
She must do 20 Hail Obamas and 20 Mother Michelles.........................
If "not from the area" means "people who live less than 5 miles away" then sure.
That's like saying "None of the criminals we arrested were from Santa Monica! They're all from Los Angeles!"
and have criminal records.
What percentage of teens and 20-somethings from St. Louis have never had a brush with the law?
This is not in St. Louis. Ferguson is 20 miles out, more or less.
Hah! Wait till they get to the hispanic areas.
Those beaners will show them a thing or two.
You are talking about the city, not the metro area which is over 2 million.
I can just picture some leftist wimp like Al Hunt whining about how these looters are not at fault for anything. It must be Bush’s fault.
