That seems like an awfully strong word, but it is the term that distinguished law professor Glenn Reynolds, no hysteric, uses to describe the Obama administration’s oft-reported plan to issue executive amnesty to five or six million illegal immigrants in violation of federal law. Glenn’s characterization is a fair one. When a tyrant asserts the right to rule by decree in a state that has formerly been subject to the rule of law, he is commonly described as carrying out a coup d’etat.
That is just what the Obama administration has done, and reportedly will continue to do. When Obama changed the Affordable Care Act by decree–to name just one example, substituting “2014″ for “2013″ in a critical provision of the statute–he acted as a tyrant. In his refusal to enforce the immigration laws, contrary to the Constitution which requires him to “take care that the laws be faithfully executed,” he has acted like a tinpot dictator, asserting the right to change or ignore the law by fiat. If he now directly nullifies Section 274(a) of the Immigration and Nationalities Act by legalizing, and issuing work permits to, five or six million illegal immigrants, thereby repealing federal law by decree, how else can we describe his action but as a coup? The Obama administration openly takes the position that the rule of law no longer applies.
Can you imagine the furor that would have resulted if President Nixon, in the midst of the Watergate crisis, had asserted the right to repeal or amend federal statutes by decree? No, actually, you can’t. Forget impeachment; he would have been escorted out of the Oval Office by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. What, then, makes Barack Obama special? How can he claim the right to rule by decree without suffering the same condemnation? Well, the answer is obvious: he is a Democrat. But is that really enough? No president, Democrat or Republican, has ever dreamed of asserting such unconstitutional authority.
I am one of many who have ridiculed the Democrats’ seemingly weird obsession with impeachment. But perhaps there is method to the Democrats’ apparent madness. If they know that President Obama is about to do something that obviously warrants impeachment–asserting the right to rule by executive decree, and repealing the nation’s immigration laws by fiat–perhaps it is shrewd on their part to preemptively attack the idea of impeachment and commit Republicans to the fact that they have no thought of any such thing. Then, when Obama makes his move, it will be harder for Republicans to switch gears and start talking about removing him from office. That strikes me as the most logical explanation for the Democrats’ well-coordinated, but seemingly pointless, anti-impeachment campaign.
Today, the White House started backing off on plans to issue an executive amnesty. Maybe, as Glenn Reynolds says, this is a sign that someone in the White House is in touch with reality. Perhaps a coup has been averted, on this subject at least. But eternal vigilance is the price of liberty, so let’s not let down our guard.

Don’t recall his name, but have seen him testifying in Congress. He’s basically a mealy-mouthed hand puppet that repeats the admin lies and refuses to stand up for our military, while Obama and Hagel continue to cut our military budget to the point where it will be useless in any major conflicts.
The closest I see right now is Ted Cruz...Maybe a couple others...Hopefully a groundswell will develope after the midterms.....

It was an in your face message to Bush “we’re back stop us if you can”.
There is an al Qaida doc recovered in Afghanistan.
It’s a letter from OBl to Mullah Omar listed as doc# AFGP-2002-600321 in what was the CTC at West Points Harmony Database.
Take the info from that doc and you will find OBl himself makes it clear the terrorist attacks follow the Weather Underground playbook.
You will also find out the person responsible for making the “preparations” for the attacks, that would be the civil unrest, is one Hillary Clinton.
Notice with Benghazi there was civil unrest followed with terrorist attack and we were told the civil unrest wasn’t planned it was “spontaneous” and the terrorist attack wasn’t planned the terrorist simply picked up on the civil unrest and “spontaneously’ carried out the attack.

From the 1st WTC bombing which we were told was a “spontaneous” response to bush sending troops into Somalia, to Benghazi which we were told was a “spontaneous” response to a protest over a video, the pattern to the attack are virtually all the same, orchestrate civil unrest follow with terrorist attack.
The jug eared clown in the WH wasn’t anywhere around when the terrorist attacks were started using the Weather Underground playbook, Hillary was.

In effect, we've had a series of enabling acts of limited scope. The ACA is such a complex mess that "the Secretary" is empowered to do make all sorts of arbitrary decisions that normally would require legislation. The EPA makes all manner of outrageous decisions, pushing a couple of unfortunate SJC decisions beyond their bounds. Regulating the pollutant CO2; or ditches that may eventually drain to navigable
Awaters; or their recently withdrawn assertion that they could levy outrageous fines without any due process. And don't get me started about the NLRB...
A general enabling act would be unlikely to pass. But, an enabling act with an immigration scope might get buried inside some complex immigration bill when the House and Senate conference. And then, the monster would emerge.
Sure looks that way from here, more or less daily since the election campaign of 2008.

Bank on it—Obama has no choice. If he leaves office the dam will break on his scandals and he will go to prison-— He must stay in power—or have his puppet replace him. He has discovered Hillary will not play that game—maybe Holder? Biden? As long as he’s in office he can use his power to keep the truth from being known—but, lacking that power he is doomed—along with many of his cohorts and cronies. He will cancel the next election due to some crisis—just watch.

There was that ‘Night of the Long Knives’ thing from 1934, under the guise of “nipping treason in the bud”. Not that such action would EVER be considered by our current regime, but I bet they’d love to be able to get away with it...
