The growing threat to France’s mainstream political leaders posed by Marine Le Pen, head of France’s far-right National Front, has been underscored by an opinion poll putting her in the lead for the first time in the race for the next presidential election.
The charismatic Ms Le Pen has overtaken former centre-right president Nicolas Sarkozy in voting intentions if the first round of the election were held today, with socialist incumbent François Hollande trailing in third, according to the Ifop poll.

US Right used to be anti Semetic in the 1960’s and before. That is why almost the entire American Jewry bewilderingly votes Democratic. To not acknowledge that is to not acknowledge history. Same goes for Canada and Europe.Now that has almost fully transferred to the Left.

Antisemites from the 60s and before? Henry Ford ran as a Democrat in 1918 for the US Senate from Michigan (left-winger who supported the League of Nations and ran on a peace platform). Democrat FDR’s policy towards Jewish refugees was to turn them away, until public pressure forced him to relent (and we know his hard-left tendencies). Just two major examples.

Is Le Pen really “the right”? She’s actually something of a socialist: she wants the state to run energy companies, financial services, the post office, hospitals, schools and transportation. She’s just opposed to illegal immigration.
This simple idea is so easy to grasp, that the National Front gains many of their new voters from the "leftwing" Socialist Party. So much so, the Socialist Party conducted a study to determine why "their" voters are splitting and voting for the National Front.
The National Front is not pro-freedom, pro-economic freedom or anything else. They believe that French Socialism should be for the French and not millions of imported foreigners. So, what exactly makes this party "far right". I don't know.
No. The difference between left-wing socialism versus right-wing socialism per Marx and Lenin is that the right-wing believes in private property rights for individuals, whereas the left-wing believes that all of the people own all of everything.
Can Le Pen lead? That’s the question.
