The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising, and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement.
Regarding Ukraine, his detachment — the rote, impassive voice — borders on dissociation. His U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, delivers an impassioned denunciation of Russia. Obama cautions that we not “get out ahead of the facts,” as if the facts of this case — Vladimir Putin’s proxies’ shooting down a civilian airliner — are in doubt.
The preferred explanation for the president’s detachment is psychological. He’s checked out. Given up. Let down and disappointed by the world, he is in withdrawal.
Perhaps. But I’d propose an alternate theory that gives him more credit: Obama’s passivity stems from an idea. When Obama says Putin has placed himself on the wrong side of history in Ukraine, he actually believes it. He disdains realpolitik because he believes that, in the end, such primitive 19th-century notions as conquest are self-defeating. History sees to their defeat.

Obama, hating America as he does Whitey, refuses to lead or follow...and he most certainly will not get out of the way.
I started spreading the alarm the day after the election in 2008. The Dems/Libs had complete control of 2 branches of the fed government. They could run nilly willy for the next 2 years and dust off all the 1960s era crap sitting on the shelf and legalize socialied medicine.
Now with congress and the SCOTUS all but nutrilized, Obama knows he can’t be impeached and removed. Neither party has the balls to kick out a black man from the WH.
All that is left is the ballot box and cartridge box.
What “O” knows about politics and US history is miniscule.
What he knows (rather, what he has memorized for ROTE regurgitation) about Marx ideology is broad.
• Is this the wholesome basis for a workable/objective/mature world view?
• Does that qualify him for the Presidency of the United States?
• Will ALL America be represented by SUCH a President?
• What is his judgment worth to the rest of the world?
Con games are run to make a lot of easy money in a short time. Running the Con is fun, but the purpose is to make lots of easy money in a quick manner.
Shills are important to a good Con. They distract the victim(s). They make the victim/Mark feel more secure and willing to participate in the Con. The Shill is there to participate in the Con to enjoy the fruits of the Con.....the money. If the Shill starts to believe that he/she isn’t able to enjoy the fruits of the Con, then the Shill grows restless and frustrated.
Obama is a Shill. He’s ready to stop being a Shill. He wants to enjoy some of the money from the Con. The problem is that his boss, the Grifter, isn’t ready to stop. The Grifter controls the Shill by sharing the money from the Con, but also by threatening to turn the Shill in to the authorities.
The Big Con is winding down. We won’t find out how much has been stolen until the con men have left. Obama, a Shill, is just anxious to make sure he gets his share.
Krauthammer is very insightful in nearly all his work. However, I think he’s missing the mark on this piece. Its not so much how Obama views the forces of history; its more a case of how much he detests the history of United States. If you accept that premise, everything he does is understandable and predictable.
In short, if its bad for America, then Obama is for it. That’s really all you need to know.
He’s depressed.
No, he hasn’t vacated it - he has merely gone underground, disappearing from view but simultaneously exercising more dictatorial power than any president before him.
From secrecy, he rejects our laws and imposes his own; from hiding, he attacks our institutions.
People think he doesn’t have a plan and anyway, he’s never around or visible or in contact with Congress or the rest of the government in any way - because he’s actually quietly running his own show, illegally and ruthlessly, from his invisibility.

The only consolation we have is that many of us saw Obama for what he is; we knew disaster was coming.
I held out hope that the country would wise up and boot him out after one term before the Obama Vortex could wreck the country. Unfortunately, such was not the case.
The country will pay a huge price for this mistake. The real bills have yet to come due.
