When writing about politics, it's all too frequent to use terminology that often obscures more than elucidates. That's especially true when it comes to the word "wave"shorthand for a landslide victory for the winning party. I've argued before that the likelihood of 2014 being a wave election has been rising, given the president's consistently low approval ratings and the fact that Republicans are running evenly on the generic ballot (which usually translates into a clear GOP edge) and that the right-track/wrong-track numbers are near historic lows. All these big-picture signs are ominous for the party in power.

The gloom and doom on this thread is hilarious. Some folks you just can’t cheer up.
Looks like you are happy with the status quo. Want more of the likes of Bohner who wont de-fund anything un-constitutional obama has set forth (Bohners words)? Searchlight Harry destroying our economy; say, when was the last budget passed by the Senate? The House is nothing but a gimp with a couple hangnails making things difficult for the establishment. Gloom and Doom? Corruption.
This Congress is much more conservative then Denny Hastert’s and Tom Delay’s. Where was all this pulling of hair and knashing of teeth then?
Never underestimate the GOP’s ability to snatch defeat from the grasp of victory.
Warn me next time. I had to go get a new keyboard after puking on mine after that post.
Slick Willie was impached for far, FAR less. It doesn’t matter however, you have GOP knee pads on. Enjoy more of the same when you go that “straight ticket” in the voting booth.
It's a rosy Republican future, questionable conservative one.
Exactly right.
I remember what conservatives got from the GOP back when they had control of the entire FedGov:
Nothing. Less than nothing. We got Power Sharing, Medicare Part D, and Campaign Finance Reform along with a failure to make wildly popular tax cuts permanent.
Excuse me while I fail to get all hot and bothered about the worthless GOP.
No kneepads here and don’t want to borrow yours....Compared to Denny Hastert...how many earmarks has this Congress piled up? How many 2000 page energy bills...highway bills.....farm bills? This Congress according to the left is the “least productive ever”. .Obama can’t get anything done. But anything less then impeachment means Bonier sux? Ok...try wiping the foam off.
No votes for RINOs. It make take forever to rid ourselves of these freaks...however, never again will I vote for a RINO.
Ok fine and watch Valerie Jarrett and Harry Reid put who ever they want on the Supreme Court. You won’t have to live with that....but the next generation will.
Hard work Bingo
Re: “The gloom and doom on this thread is hilarious.”
My gloom and doom is based on the polls.
We need six Democrat seats for a Senate majority.
West Virginia, South Dakota, and Montana look certain for the GOP.
Arkansas is leaning Republican but it’s still close.
In the rest of the close Senate races, the Democrat is tied or leads the Republican.
Georgia, a Republican seat, is absolutely at risk for us.
If we drop Georgia, we would have to win EIGHT Democrat seats to gain a majority.
Bottom Line for me:
Month after month of awful political news for Democrats, yet this is the best the GOP can do?
Yes I agree. Not taking the Senate with all our advantages leaving Harry Reid in power whould be awful. My point is that some folks here think that’s a good thing. I think Valerie Jarrett would be very happy to read this thread.
If this election is as fraud filled as 2010 and I see no reason to believe it will be anything but worse, we could wind up with an actual yellow dog being elected if he runs as a big D.
Feelings are reserved for Liberals.
They use them to make up their minds when voting.
You make Mitt sad...
I’ll just have to not watch. NO RINOs.
“Does this article make you feel any better?”
Nah.
The Progressives in the electorate will come out in force to vote against the “mean, nasty, heartless, uncaring,
bible-thumping, gun-loving, knuckle-dragging, ignorant Christian morons” in the next election.
One hopes that those who will crawl over broken glass to vote against Progressives will come out in hordes so large, that any attemps at Progressive vote manipulation will be ineffective.
IMHO
The rats didn’t come out in 2010.
