In a potentially crippling blow to Obamacare, a top federal appeals court Tuesday said that billions of dollars worth of government subsidies that helped 4.7 million people buy insurance on HealthCare.gov are not legal under the Affordable Care Act.

The real significance of this decision is where there are no subsidies there are no taxes that can be collected for not having compliant insurance. This would allow states that don’t have exchanges to allow “sub-standard” policies that would allow coverage as before Obamacare.
You're correct. The court just ruled that there should be no subsidies in states that didn't set up their own exchanges.
It should now proceed to the Supreme Court, where the final decision will be made - assuming, of course, that the fed.gov files an appeal.
Wet blanket warning...... There are a lot of powerful people heavily invested in 0care. Court orders, laws, the will of the people hasn’t affected them up until now.

Well, now I’m confused. Many people in states with exchanges still “simply” purchased insurance directly from the insurance companies, and then applied for the subsidy via healthcare.gov. What happens to those people?
Is this the same suit in which subsidies were given to people in states that didn’t set up exchanges...something like that?
Yes it is, but Obama can't make it happen.
And then there are the states like Oregon, who couldn’t make their website work despite $250 MILLION spent on it, who’ve had to fall back on the federal website.
I’m going to enjoy watching this thing go up in flames.
If Obamacare is not torn out by the roots and still must be purchased by law, this reduces a lot of people to the level of slaves. Votes have consequences, I have no sympathy, they got what they voted for.

I agree with you, although a single payer system would need to be legislated into law through Congress and fortunately there aren’t enough radical leftists in either chamber to ram something like this through, like they did in 2010.

June/July 2014 is truly Obama’s Summer of recovery. He has to be in recovery after the frequent, and multiple losses. Hobby Lobby, Benghazi special committee, revelation of IRS lies, involvement in current border invasion, sissy response to the civilian shoot down, being merely a casual bystander in the Israel/Gaza conflict.
June/July 2014 may well be a series of events hat confirms the irrelevancy of Zero’s presidency. But, we should not celebrate as if the game is over. We must remain vigilant and continue to pummel him until the final horn blows. As I told my little league teams, we should leave it all on the field/court. Then we will have no regrets about what might have been. Time for celebration will flourish when the clock has expired.

I am guardedly optimistic. Very guardedly.
We are no longer a nation of laws, but of edicts. Relying on a Supreme Court decision is looking to the wrong authority for assurance.
Obama (the regime he’s the face of) will stop when they’re forcefully stopped. They have an agenda, they’re going forward without, words on paper have never mattered to them.
